This is an impressive kit... for the price. It's priced so low, you would have a tough time locating another "starter", or "beginner" kit that ran as well, and was of similar quality. This Padieoe pen has alot going for it. It runs well, and has a working range of 4.0v to 12.0v. You can adjust it in 1/10th volt increments. However, it's far from perfect, and it begins getting lots of vibration and noise at around 9.0v. At 9.5v it may already be too annoying to work with. Something to consider. It also features a rather amazing stroke length out to 4.5mm, similar to what machines costing 10-20 times the price of this feature. I'm impressed. I would point out that the grip area features engraved designs very reminiscent of "Star Wars". Very futuristic, and spacey. The rest of the kit is fine, and includes needle cartridges, a small set of practice inks, some ink caps, two narrow rolls of black grip tape, a single pair of blue latex exam gloves, some synthetic practice skin, a sheet of transfer paper, and an instruction book. There is also a "Wormhole" decal. Overall, a nice kit that is a great value. If you are just starting out don't spend a fortune to see if it's for you. Buy a less expensive, but reliable setup.     • Wormhole machine
The branding on the machine says Padieoe but i think it’s really a Wormhole machine. It comes with everything branded in Wormhole - needles, manual, even the box. It comes with transfer paper, grip tape, ink caps, 1 a&d sample packet, 5 inks, 2 stretchy skins, charge cord, and the machine. The machine: has adjustable needle depth and an integrated battery. The fact that the battery is integrated is a disappointment for me as i prefer to use portable batteries i can plug in via rca. So if something happens to this machine, you won’t be able to fix it. You’ll have to buy a whole new machine. At a $50 price point, it’s not bad but there’s not a heck of a lot with it for $50 to justify spending it when there are other kits with more items for the same price or a few bucks less. I’m not crazy about this machine’s function when using it. It sounds like it has a weak motor BUT when i was using it, I didn’t have any problem packing in the ink when shading. I think it’s a much better machine for shading than for lining. I disliked it for lining due to vibration felt during that process which is surprising because i was running it b/t 4-4.5v. Shading - i had it b/t 5-6.5v and didn’t feel much vibration at all. This was prior to me using grip tape too. The grip tape helped to dampen the vibration big time, but I still dislike it as a liner machine. This one is definitely best for shading in my honest opinion. I think it’s a nice soft shader, but again I’m not really crazy about this machine quite yet, but I’m going to keep it and keep using it. If I have a change of heart, I will update my review. I think the only thing that would make me love it, is if there was a stronger mAh battery in it because when it’s on and in use, it kinda sounds like it’s laboring, but again, i did not experience any issues w/ packing the ink into the skin. Another note about this machine - it seems to take Wormhole needle cartridges the best. I tried using other brand cartridges and i did not have the same secure connection like i did with the wormhole ones. So i guess stick to using just wormhole products with this one. It’s interesting b/c it should be able to take other brand cartridges but mine didn’t. The skins: Though they were nice and stretchy, I did not care for them as i feel that they did not take the ink well. When I went to rinse off with green soap, everything i had freehanded on ended up coming off! The needles: are Wormhole brand and awesome. They pack in the ink real nice. I used both premium ink and the ink that came with this kit - both packed in nicely. The only downside of this kit is they don’t give you enough needles. There’s only a 5pk of 2 different sizes inside. The ink: it’s only a 5 pack, and it’s Wormhole brand too. It’s honestly not bad at all. Bottomline: It’s a halfway decent kit with the machine being best as a shader, but i wish there was a portable battery feature for it. ... show more

    • great starter kit
this is a really excellent starter kit to try out tattooing. It has everything you need to practice on the fake skin as you start watching different tutorials. I like this one with the integrated battery because it helps balance out the machine in your hand, and doesn't have the clunky RCA cable dangling around like the wired version of the starter tattoo guns. this set is somewhat unique in that it comes with some ink. I haven't seen many other kits with that. The ink allows for some more creativity as your practicing on the fake skin, which is pretty nice. ... show more

Took a while to review because I wanted to use the machine, and I almost lost it because it said WORMHOLE on the box and I couldn't find it but once I had some time, I figured it' just a rebranded Wormhole, or at least all the other gear is, it's clearly labeled as such. I have had a chance to use a few different Wormhole kits and machines, and this is one that is under par for gear. Sure the price is there, you get basically everything and the machine is GREAT for shading, it's just a tad different than the updated or other ones ive tried. It's well balanced, and has a good feel and I like how thick it is. I will take some more time with it as only had one session, but it's definitely good to have a few machines to use and practice with. Has the basics all you need for one or two sessions, but I think you will want to have more. I would say if you are getting this, get this for the machine it's worth the price for it alone, and consider all the extra stuff .. extra. This is a good kit, just I think there are others with more pizzaz, bigger ink bottles and whatnot you could get. It's not bad, and works well. Price is amazing really, the tech has come down and it gives us artists a chance to try out different machines to see what works best. Happy with it practice skin I used thicker ones, not the one in the kit as I am used to those and is easier for me to determine and compare to other machines, I would say it's on par with most I have, and better than a few smaller ones actually. instructions were clearly for another machine? but was included. Machine weight solid, power lasts long time. Good intro machine, but kit is small compared to others.
