I put this tarp through a rough test this past weekend. I had a pile of brush from some shrubs and small trees I had removed, plus another pile at my son’s house. These were stiff, hard branches, many with sharp branches and stumps. I piles my trailer high, threw the tarp over and cinched it down with ratchet straps. Drove to my son’s house, piled more on, cinched it down again and drove to the recyclers. The tarp performed well even driving at highway speeds. No rips or tears. Sometimes those cheap blue tarps just won't cut it. This is just the sort of tarp you need to step in when you need something stronger and heavier. This has extra reinforced corners and grommets, and the whole weight of the tarp is heavier because the tarp material is so much thicker. And because it is so large, it can cover a large area so that you aren't piecing tarps together over a large work area. We have used it to put the woodchips on when we were chipping a lot of branches and it worked great. Heavy enough we could roll a wheelbarrow over it and walk on it, and scoop up woodchips off it without worrying too much about harming the tarp. Which, of course, made the final cleanup easy. Most "Heavy Duty" tarps I buy are not nearly as HEAVY DUTY as this one! When it came, I was like, "What's in this box?!" And was even more surprised when I opened the box! It is sturdy and seems to be well-made. I plan on using it as a base for my tent for when we go camping, to protect the tent from rocks and sticks...pretty sure this will do the job!
