I recently got a different brand “16 mil” tarp, and this one is definitely thicker and made of higher quality material. It deserves the heavy duty designation. The brass grommets are wide and unlikely to pull through. The corner grommets are plastic-reinforced for more durability. One of the plastic corners on mine was cracked at the edge of the grommet, but I don’t expect this to impact the functionality. The edges are cord-reinforced, and the edge seams are heat welded with a wide overlap, not stitched. We’ll see how this holds up. The silver coloring should reduce sun degradation and reflect some heat if you need that feature. The tarp is offered in several sizes, and is a good option if you’re looking for something that will be used in a rough environment. ... show more

Very nice heavy duty tarp at a great price. The 12x20s that are only 12mil thick are usually around $50 at the cheapest, so this one being 16mil for less is great! I use tarps while raking the pine needles off the lawn. I rake them on to the tarp then drag it across the yard, so the heavy duty ones are best. This works great for that. This 12x20 tarp is 16 Mil thick. It has brass grommets and reinforced stitches on the tarp. I like that it is UV-resistant. It was surprisingly heavy in the package. I was able to use nylon cording through the grommets and tie down the outdoor furniture that I have without any worries of the grommets pulling away from the tarp. This tarp is very heavy duty and you can literally do about anything on top of it or if you want to cover anything, you can do that to. I like using this to protect my floors when I'm transporting heavy items or building furniture pieces. I've had no problems with it so far. Recommend.

Any sort of tarp is helpful. But having this heavy-duty tarp to cover up some of our kid toys in the backyard when it rains or snows - is super helpful. It's not a longer-term fix, but for now, it is great to have.
