I had been using a well known brand of cookware w/ the usual dark grey Teflon coating. Had them to for 10 years but some got scratched, beat up looking so decided sick of color and treated myself to this VERY inexpensive T-Fal (stands for Teflon-Aluminum) but these are the ceramic coated version which means you only need to cook w/ low to medium heat. Despite the price tag, couldn't be happier. SO lightweight but handles the jobs on my gas top range nicely! Cooks evenly and if I put in a little bit of butter when making fried eggs - even get some brown edges which never happened w/ straight Teflon previously. I bought this 12" fry pan to complete 12 pc set in case needing to cook larger amounts for guests. Doesn't come w/ a lid, so bought a 12" glass lid which fit perfectly. Clean up is super easy. We have had issues with the typical non-stick pans coating coming off of our regular T-Fal cookware. I had purchased 1 fry pan with the ceramic coating to see how it compared to the regular non-stick. It is a world of difference in the non-stick side. The ceramic coating is much better and seems more durable already. When cooking eggs in this pan, if we just used a little butter or spray on oil, the eggs would just about slide out without help. That never happened with the regular non-stick. Durability, while better than regular non-stick, is still something to be careful with. In almost 3 months of use, there has been only 1 small scratch when something was cut in the pan. The scratch is only about 1/8inch and happened early. It has not grown and doesn't cause an issue, but you have to be careful. As with any set, we haven't used every piece of this set, but the small fry pan and the sauce pay have had a good bit of usage. The heat distribution seems consistent and even, they are washed by hand. The nylon utensils are just average, I prefer our silicone set. We don't use the strainer since I have a stainless pasta pot I find loose add-on pieces tend to disappear and prefer built in functionality. I like that the set is made from re-cycled aluminum and the heft is good. The handle on the large pot is a little weird in the design being so large, but does keep the handle cool. its tfal. its a MONSTER of a pan! i was shocked by its size. and depth... the sides are built up really high. looks wise, its giving me slight 'being a kid back in the 70s' vibes with a dash of the '20s. Its not bad, although green would NOT have been my 1st choice. although its not horrendous. & the performance more than makes up for it! used it last night to caramelize peppers & onions. very little splatter on the cooktop. held onto heat very well. used tonight to make a 1/2 lb burger. same. even less splatter (for an 80/20 burger). impressed. & although i did use us my coveted bacon grease to saute the peps & onions for flavor, i didnt use any fat with my burger. i gave it a hard crust on both sides and i could swirl them around the whole time if id wanted. they didnt stick a lick! very impressive. i did season it per the instructions. used avo oil. heated the pan up til just before the oil started to smoke. pulled it off the stove & spread/wiped it all down with paper towels. that's when i noticed issue 1... there is a lemon sized scorch mark on the bottom of the pan. its a pan. it should be able to handle anything a home flattop glass stove can dish out. tried scrubbing it off with a scrub daddy. nope. afraid to use the stainless scrubber cuz i dont want to scratch the bottom. same with barkeepers... dont know how the acid will react with the coating. BIG bummer. i will get over it. & avoid putting the stove up to 10! still.. tfal? smh. kinda disappointed in ya on that one. issue #2 (which i knew going in) was no lid. wasnt a big issue, espesh after using it. but i DID want a lid. thought i could use my biggest pasta pot lid... no good.. 1/2 inch too small. sigh. BUT, what pops up on amazon? a standalone glass/silicone lid that fits from 11-12 1/2" pots/pans. its PERFECT. fits tight to the edge of the pan & ocks on very well, even with the pans highly curled lip edge. (search "TFCX001" which is the model # & it will come up). NOW my pan is complete (and i have a cool big lid for other uses). neither issue would stop me from getting another one of these pans (considering adding to my cart again!). its that well made. it performs that well. & also importantly its sustainably built & PFOS/PFAS free. no teflon. but treat it well! no harsh scrubbers. no dishwasher. you wont need em. a soft sponge (in my case a scrub daddy) cleans anything that wont rinse off with a single wipe. it def lives up to the tfal name. at $30 its a deal. on sale & its a steal! you will love this big daddy of a pan! (lets hope the coating lasts... we'll see!) ... show more

I purchased this pan to replace a traditional Tfal pan. At first it was awesome, and I thought I had found my new favorite frying pan. But after a few days of frying turkey bacon, I noticed that the bacon began to stick and leave a residue. This residue caused eggs to stick to the pan afterwards. I went back to the traditional red dot Tfal pan for frying meats and I use this strictly for pancakes. It's good but not great. I would not buy it again. ... show more
