At home I have a large compressor I use for tire changes and maintenance. I wanted a small portable air pump to keep in my wife’s car, along with a battery jump start, where she could use the air pump in case of an emergency. The air pump needed to be easy to understand and use since it could be months, if not years, between the times she pulls it out from under her seat. We had a smaller air pump that, on the spur of the moment, we gave to a friend. She uses that old one to fill her bike tires, wheel barrow tire, and riding mower. But as soon as we gave it to her, we realized that we no longer had an air pump in the car for emergencies. This Syncwire portable air compressor is much better than our previous air pump. It is a little bit larger and heavier but is much faster and I think better built. I like that it has four feet on the bottom to keep it stable and the display is facing up making it easier to see than having the display on its side. Also the large backlit digits are east to read. The screen is nicely laid out. The 5 icons on the top make it simple to select which mode – Car. The display shows the current pressure, the preset pressure, and battery level. A simple plus or minus button is used to set the pressure you want the air pump to stop at and the power button to start. The air pump stops when the preset pressure is reached or you can simply press the power button to stop the pump sooner. I also learned that filling a car tire takes a lot of energy. An air pump that only has a rechargeable battery is not a good idea. This air pump has a large 7800 mAh battery but also a 12v DC lighter plug to run the pump. If by the time you need to use the pump and the battery is no longer at 100 percent, you have the option to use the wired plug. I think this is a necessity. In an emergency, it is much better to pull out the wired plug than waiting along the side of the road for the air pump battery to recharge. This has a light for night use, and the USB output takes care of charging a phone battery. My only complaint is the 1.5ft air hose is a little short but they do this so that the items in the storage bag are small and tight; keeping the needed storage space, like under a car seat, down. This portable air compressor has all the features you need in a very compact size. I wasn't sure at first how this would hold up but after using it and understanding it a bit better, I'm sold. This is perfect for a quick top-off on your tires. You do not however want to run this for more than five minutes solid. The compressor does get very hot and needs a break. It did shut down on me the first time I used it (I was trying it out on a completely flat tire) but after recharging the battery and letting it get completely cool it was ready to go. It did completely fill the flat truck tire, but I think that use is beyond this compressor and would cause it to wear out prematurely if done too often. I like the one-time set and forget of how much air pressure I want in the tires. My old portable compressor had to be set every time it was used to the amount of air needed. It is a small compressor that fits neatly under a seat or in the trunk waiting for you to need it. It charges either by USB-C and it comes with a cord to plug into your lighter socket for direct car battery use. It also comes with a spare set of stem caps and additional attachments for inflating other items. This is a solid and compact compressor. It's size is perfect to keep in a car for an emergency or occasional top off. Would be pushing it to top off multiple tires at once. Has nice features like storing settings and a clear and easy to read display.

We have a couple of cars that have slow leaks in the tires, so I've decided to get tire inflators for all of them. This one was nice and compact, and fit perfectly in the console. It's quite powerful - it was able to add 8 PSI in about 3 minutes (of course your times will vary). In doing so, it barely used any battery. I would guess it could inflate all of the tires a fair amount if necessary. It's also nice as an emergency charging bank. It works great and fits in tight spaces. Highly recommended. ... show more

The Syncwire portable air compressor is a great tool to carry in your vehicle or have around the house. It's small enough to fit in the trunk (possibly even within the spare tire compartment), or to just keep on the shelf in the garage or in the house. The unit itself is solid, but not very heavy. I very much appreciate that the LED screen has big values on it so I can clearly see the battery gauge, pre-set values for the default pump needs that are programmed into the device, as well as the pressure value that I'm able to manually set. Very intuitive button controls to select your default values (e.g., car, bicycle, motorcycle, balls, etc.) and unit of measure, as well as power on and activate/stop air flow. The cord is long enough and won't cause the device to feel as though it's "dangling" from the tire (though this may vary for vehicles with bigger tire radiuses). Also, the unit can be charged via USB-C or using the cigarette lighter port. Two things to point out: 1) the device has grips on the button to help it stay in place as it's filling tires or items up with air. I tested inflating my car tires with the unit on the garage floor, and it still slid a bit across the floor. 2) I charged the unit fully before first use. I tested on all four tires of my vehicle in which no more than 4psi was added to the tires. I did notice that the battery gauge dropped a cell as I was finishing up filling the fourth tire.
