Place your Sylvan Wave Maker below the waterline and suction it firmly to the hull. The closer to the stern the steeper the wave will be. All boats are different so take some time to find the best spot for you. Note: You will be surfing on the opposite side of the boat than your Wave Maker. At your discretion, a safety line can be added and if you decide you use a safety cord, make sure it is small enough to clear the motor completely. Use the Wave Maker only when surfing. Remove while traveling/enroute. Please make sure your boat is compatible with this product.

Used on our 2005 Air Nautique SV211 (400ish lbs of ballast). Was blown away with how big of a difference this thing makes (see picture, before and after). Far more important than adding ballast weight. Was very impressed with how strong the suction power was. Only thing that I dislike is that my boat hull is sloped slightly which makes it difficult to find a spot that is flat enough to get both suctions to work properly. It would be nice if there was a way to angle one of the suction cups slightly. Overall great product. Does exactly what it is supposed to. Hasn’t fallen off yet ... show more

    • Exactly what we were looking for!
My husband and I wanted to wake surf behind my cabin cruiser, but the wake wasn’t clean enough. A friend of ours suggested a wake shaper, and what a difference it made! It was fairly easy to install, even when the boat was in the water. Removing it was even easier, especially if we were both in the water. We did have to scrape off a little bit of the bottom paint to get the suction to hold better, but this was just a minor issue. Per our friends advice, we tethered it to the boat in case it fell off, but we did not have a problem with this at all. ... show more

Used it for the first time today on our Tige Z3. Wow, everyone was amazed at how it worked. Filled both sacks in the rear and mounted the Wave Maker right under the waterline and all the way back. In the front, filled starboard sack full and port sack about half way. We are goofy footers. Tweaked the sacks a bit as we used it but, never moved the Wave Maker (but we will when regular footers show up...that's one of the beauties of this thing....just pop off and switch sides without having to pump water and waste surf time). We gave it just a slight bit of list to starboard and we had a huge, clean wave......better (bigger and longer) than any wave we've had fully listed. This thing really works.....probably the best bang for the buck of any waksurf item I've ever purchased. Tied a boat fender to it and laid the fender up on a valley in the sun deck....that worked like a charm.....but it never fell off and we used it all day. Pulled it off before traveling at speed. Would definitely recommend to friends. ... show more

Phenomenal product the only thing missing would be a tether if it comes off the boat you better keep an eye on it to retrieve it we drilled a hole through the gusset and tied it to the boat. It makes wonderful waves.

Best customer service! First time owning a a ski boat so new to surfing. So we were a little clueless but so happy with this product and worked great. Best part of the story: while they are pretty sure we got a new version that floats, and we tested it three times before putting it on the boat, and it made it through 2 days, on the third day it fell off😲 and didn’t float to surface. We searched the lake for over an over, so what’s the best part? No questions asked they sent us new one!!!! We can’t wait to get back out there with it!!!
