Just received these. They seem nice and sturdy. The true test will come when the airlines beat the heck out of them. We fought over who gets the carry-on so I ended up buying an individual one as well. The wheels roll very easily so there’s no effort to moving them around

I am disappointed in the durability of this suitcase. I own a SwissGear backpack which has been used "heavily," every day, for at least 10 years and it has been wonderful. So when it came time for my wife and I to purchase new suitcases, we didn't hesitate to purchase TWO of these 29-inch bags. Unfortunately, one bag was torn on the very first trip; and on the second trip, a main compartment zipper-pull was completely torn off (missing). Admittedly, these damages may have been caused by overly aggressive airport baggage handlers, but I think an equal portion of the blame goes back to SwissGear for poor manufacturing quality. I am also disappointed by the maneuverability of the suitcase wheels. These are not heavy-duty roller blade wheels; they are a lesser grade (cheap) plastic and they do not allow the bag to "cruise smoothly" on flat, even, surfaces. I will say that the bag has some nice storage features and holds a lot of travel clothing, etc., but as both bags have suffered damage after minimal use, we are disappointed in the overall quality and I cannot recommend this product to potential buyers. ... show more

most airlines list a carry on as 22 x14 as the largest size. This case although claimed to be 21" measures approximately 22-3/4" from wheel to top of handle. Still, I carried it on six flights recently, had no problems with it fitting straight in rather than turned sideways even on smaller aircraft. Great sturdy suitcase! Had plenty of room for a four day trip and even had space to bring more stuff home with me. Color easy to spot on luggage carousel. The wheels make the bag easy to handle. The many inside and outside pockets are also a plus.

I'm usually a Samsonite guy, but I was not impressed with the one I bought and had to return and got this one. I'm impressed with how it handled and sturdiness. I was about to fit all I needed for a 7 day trip to Puerta Vallarta and still had room to spare. I didn't need to expand it and it never tipped over like the Samsonite did. I am rating a 25" suitcase based on a 21" and 29" models I purchased earlier. The 29" suitcase I bought in like-new condition. It was delivered with cracked plastic wall (not identified by the Amazon Warehouse description). No problem, during my two trips to Europe it performed well. The 21" carry-on model performs just okay. The issue is with wobbly handle and that it does not lock in in an upward/extracted position. I can live with that, although it is annoying and inconvenient at times. So, back to the Swiss Gear 25" suitcase that I purchased in like-new condition from the Amazon Warehouse. I received wrong item, the sorriest looking beat-up old Samsonite brand with two wheels, scuffed up by likely every cobblestone in overseas trip. The case itself looks like it spent lots of time in an attic storage. I am going on a trip in two days so I only have time to return this item back to Amazon. I will look to purchase my luggage from Kohl's a place where I can return this item. Consumer: be aware of AMAZON Warehouse lack of attention to detail. Fortunately returns are easy at Amazon, just give yourself time. The Customer Support person was very nice and said he was very sorry. ... show more
