Features

  • Compatibility: This replacement AGS Switch will work on Pentair Mastertemp 400 parts along with all the other BTU's. It is also compatible with the Sta Rite heater and all HD Versions as well.
  • Fault: Consider replacing the AGS Switch when the AGS LED indicator is illuminated. AGS is short for Automatic Gas Shutoff. The upgraded Pentair boards will also say AGS on the main display.
  • Location: The AGS is located within the heater on the black manifold next to the other sensors. The two wires connecting to the sensor will be plugged in when opening.
  • Purpose: The purpose of this sensor is to measure the heat exchanger outlet temperature and ensure that it does not exceed a safe level of 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • How to Install: Turn off the pump and all the electricity going to the pool heater. Disconnect the two wires of the sensor and unthread the sensor out. Plug your new one in and redo the connections.

My Pentair Heater Drain plug Was getting calcified And the seal had disintegrated so it was leaking. This one is good because It comes with the seal as well as the plug. It's an off brand but it works perfectly in my pool heater. It only comes with one seal. So I bought some extras from home depot. I gave it a 4 because it only comes with the one seal if it came with more than 1 seal. I would have given it a five rating ... show more

This thermal regulator actually does what it's designed to do. I bought a cheaper 1 here on Amazon and returned it because it would not open with hot water running on it.

So far so good with this part. As others have said the other listings may be cheaper but I bought one of those first and it wouldn't open until 180F to 190F. That caused the heater to only heat for 1 to 2 minutes and then shut off with an HLS light. Even though this part may not be OEM it is stamped 120F on the bottom and it did open running hot water from my sink over it. This is the fix right here. ... show more

Attempted to contact seller but no response. Worked fine first two times. Then, would turn on but not off, and would decrease heat but not increase. Tried to reset. Checked contacts. Control module is simply bad. Almost $300 for one month use.
