These feeders are amazing. The birds love them during the day. At night I enjoy the lighting, it has a great ambience. I am in Los Angeles in the middle of the city and have goldfinches all day long fighting over the food. Well, they may not be fighting, but there is definitely a lot of chirping. There are other kind of birds coming as well, but I do not know their species. I originally bought the 7.2x7.2, which has a bigger platform, just big enough for an adventurous mourning dove to land, or better said, barely hang on it . But its big wings made such a mess, I bought the 8x8 instead and it was too small for the dove to land. I have had three of these for almost a year. They withstood the raining season without an issue (not that it rains a lot in Los Angeles). There is no cover over them when it rains and the food gets wet even though the little hole drain the water. The food inside the feeder gets moist, which seems normal as the air is humid during rain. I am not sure if they are meant to withhold chlorin, but I used it to disinfect them, and it didn’t seem to hurt the coating. I have them on the north side of the building in a shaded area, they don’t get any direct sun, but the lighting works for several hours during the evening. I have not sat out long enough for the batteries to drain. The company has amazing customer service. I had an issue with the solar panel and they replaced it months after I bought the feeder even though Amazon fulfilled the order. Oh yeah, don’t worry, the dove has another station to eat. Love this because it's pretty and at night, there's a soft glow. The birds flock to it, so ease of refilling is important. The top lifts off, so it's very easy to refill.

This feeder is so pretty at night! The only issue is you don’t see the light if the feeder is full… it does t show the lights until the seed starts to empty. Also the seed does fit too well out the bottom.

I absolutely love this feeder. More importantly, the birds love it, so much so that there now fighting over acres and I need another one. But the light lasted right 4 months, and I can't figure it how to fix whatever they problem is. I've clean of the solar panels to no effect. There's no way to get to the battery, because there shouldn't be one. More importantly, there's no way to get to the light bulb that I can see, or information about what it is. (I assume a pretty simple LED?) The aesthetics are fantastic when the light works.. When it doesn't, you just have a bird feeder. It doesn't rain here enough for "wet seeds" to be a problem, but if it rains a lot where your are, the loss is NOT big enough for your birds. BTW, squirrels have also discovered this feeder, though I am unsure to what extent they predate on it. I'll let you know if/when I do in a later edit. ... show more
