  • Good violin book
Nice song selections.

  • I like it, not good for learning the recorder though.
I think this is a pretty good book for violin. There's only one problem though. I can not play any of these pieces on my recorder. Every time I try to play these pieces on the recorder it is nothing but pain. But I can't help it, I want to become a recorder star, and get a bachelor's degree in recorder playing. But my private teacher and parents do not support my dreams. "You will become a failure if you chose recorder as a career path. You can't get a bachelor's degree in recorder playing" they say, but I know none of that's true. They've also told me I can't play the kazoo or the viola, or I will become the biggest disappointment in the world. They've even gotten to the point where they have banned me from playing these beautiful instruments. Little do they know I still busk on the streets with my recorder. I've been doing it for a month and so far I've earned 4 cents and a few dirty looks. I keep on trying but my recorder career just doesn't seem to be going anywhere. But besides all of that, this book is great for learning violin! :) ... show more

  • Suzuki books help you learn and have something that sounds good to the ears while doing so - not boring
It's a little above my level of playing at present. I am a 76 year old who took violin lessons as a kid and played intermittently through life. I don't have arthritis so have done well with with book 5 and some of book six. I took some lessons from a professional in the Atlanta Symphony and was "resurrected" as an intermediate violinist. It has been said that when ones gets older, either learn a new language or take music lessons. Suzuki books help you learn and have something that sounds good to the ears while doing so - not boring. ... show more

  • came folded
This product was exactly what I ordered, but for some reason they folded it to put it into a perfect sized envelop. So it came creased. I know it's just cosmetic, but I like nice looking new books.

  • I really love the format that's used in the Suzuki method!
I'm working on getting back to really studying and practicing and I grew up with these books and I think they are great I just wish there were more notations for fingering and tricks to learn the hard parts. I would definitely recommend this series in this method of study to anyone wanting to learn to play the violin. ... show more

  • Another step in the Suzuki Violin Repertoire
My daughter's been playing violin for a number of years and is now ready for Suzuki Book 6. We had the prior edition but I wanted the revised edition so she would have the most recent information. Great book. My daughter will work through the book with her teacher. This is not a DIY kind of book.
