  • Butterflies
Wonderful book. The designs are such that they aren't entirely full of tiny little spaces to color. Many have larger areas which make it more relaxing to color while others just may make your eyes cross while trying to do them as they are made up of lots of tiny designs. A real nice selection of pictures too. Great price as well! Well worth buying. No bleed over either from 1 page to another. I love this book, the pictures are going to really be beautiful when finished. You can even frame any you would want as they aren't back to back. An awesome bonus is on the inside covers there are colored versions of each flower picture to give you an idea of the colors to use or what they look like in real life. Update & Pictures Butterflies has 31 pages of pictures of butterflies in designs. I have been having fun with this book and using bright bold colors. I not only use the colored pencils I use the gel pens too and they are lots of fun. I didn't like the way regular crayons look, maybe a high quality crayon would do a good job but since these don't come out, I didn't want to use colors that gob in places. When using the gel pens, you'll want to have a sheet of clean white paper to cover the dried area so the oils on your skin don't lift any of the colors and leave imprints where you don't want them. Especially the glitter pens and make sure you let them dry before putting your paper over it. You might even want to start in the middle and work your way out. I can't stress it enough about making sure to have something under your picture if it isn't removable so you won't leave imprints on the picture under it or color markings from the one already done. You don't want anything to mess up your hard work on these wonderful pictures in any of these books. ... show more

  • A perfect little book to keep your attention, boh intricate and easy.
This little book measures approximately 8.5" x 8.5" and it is full of beautiful Butterflies and flowers! I like the size because I can turn it 360 degrees as I am coloring. The paper is thick enough that none of my gel pens went through the paper, even when I did several 'coats' of gel. and there is one picture per piece of paper. 31 coloring pages total. Some are very intricate if you want a project and then there are some that can be done in one sitting. I have a lot of adult coloring books and this is one of my favorites! It is small enough that I can slip it into my bag and yet rright up there with being the most challenging of all my coloring books. ... show more

  • 31 Lovely Butterfly Designs – printed on one side of thin white non-perforated paper
The media could not be loaded. This coloring book has 31 designs which have butterflies as their main point of reference. In some cases, the butterfly is the complete design and in others, the butterfly is shown in near flowers or as part of a collage. Many of the designs are intricate and will certainly take a little more time and thought. For some of the designs, you will need good eyesight and a steady hand to color in the tiny details. Some of these areas are so tiny that even with my smallest of points of pencils and gel pens, I had problems coloring them. Because of this issue, I detracted a point from my rating. The book was printed in a smaller format than usual. Perhaps if it had been printed full size, this issue could have been avoided. The designs in this book are are “curated” which means that they are licensed from various artists. It gives you a wider range of design styles but along with it, you get very different quality of lines and print. Some designs have heavy and/or dark black lines while others seem almost dark gray in color. In a few very, some of the lines seem less distinct than in others. The designs are printed on one side of thin white paper. The pages are not perforated but ample room has been left to cut a page out if you choose to do so. The binding is glued rather than sewn so you will have to cut the pages if you want to remove them. The designs all have a small framing line on the outer portions of the designs. I really like this as it helps give work a more polished a finished look and saves me time, frustration and ink in finishing the project. You can see a list of my coloring medium used for testing below. All of my markers (water-based as well as alcohol) and all of my gel pens bleed through this paper. My coloring pencils work well with it and behave according to their type of lead (though my hard lead pencils leave a noticeable indent on the back of the page. As the backside of the page is blank, I can use a heavyweight paper or chipboard beneath my working page to keep ink from leaking through or my indents from marring the page beneath. Chipboard can be purchased at an office supply store or on-line fairly inexpensively. I can reuse it many times over, so that is becoming my standard blotter sheet. While I could wish for thicker, perforated paper, it appears that this is the quality of paper and print that usually accompanies an inexpensive coloring book. Because of the price, I think that the value is still there. A better quality of paper could easily double or even triple the cost of the book. These are the coloring medium that I use for testing. If there is something else you feel I should be testing, please let me know and I will see if I can add it to my growing pile: Markers: 1) alcohol-based – Copic Sketch, Prismacolor double ended markers (brush and fine point), Sharpies (fine and ultra-fine) and 2) water-based – Tombows dual end markers (brush and fine point), Stabilo 88, Staedler triplus fineliners, and Pentel markers Gel Pens: Sakura, Fiskars, Uni-ball Signo 0.38/0.28 and Tekwriter Coloring Pencils: Prismacolor Premier Soft Core, Derwent Colorsoft, Prismacolor Verithins, and Faber-Castel Polychromos ... show more

  • Would definitely buy again
I gave this book 5 stars bc I loved every picture in it. But there is 1 thing I dislike the pages are not perforated so when u tear a page out it sometimes rips a little bit of the pictures frame. But the pictures are so good. Love them, some are easy some are a bit more complicated, the paper is good too no bleeding through when I use markers. ... show more

Adorable pictures. I can't wait to pick up my pencils and start coloring. I wish the paper was a little thicker but what can you expect for the price and it's one-sided so I still give it a 5-star rating. Plus I ordered it on the 13th, back page shows that it was printed on the 15th, it was shipped on the 14th (yes, it was shipped before it was printed) with 4 other, bigger books, and I received it today (the 16th by the U.S. Postal Service). Awesome job Two Hoots Coloring, Amazon.com, and the USPS. ... show more

  • Paper is so thin and tiny spaces to color
The paper is too thin for most types of coloring media, it's like newsprint. The print is so small and spaces to color are so tight, it's just not possible to color inside the lines. I will say the artwork is decent and you can enlarge designs and print on better quality paper.

  • Made A Great Gift
I got this as a gift for a friend and I was really happy with how nice the pages were. The butterflies were very detailed so there was a lot to work with and it was small enough to fit in her purse and take with her. I'm very happy with it and may get one for myself!
