I purchased this charger for the sole purpose of mounting it in my truck as an onboard charger, since the truck is not used every day. It was billed as being compatible with AGM, which my battery is. I wasn't sure before ordering how this would work, as another bench charger I have, you have to select the different mode each time it is plugged in, which would not work for an onboard charger that you simply plug in without opening the hood. Turns out, the manufacturer was smart enough to realize this, and designed the charger so that when power is removed, it remembers the last mode set and returns to that mode automatically. So I was very happy, and the charger works exactly as it should. While I don't really need 5 amps for a maintainer, it is nice to have while working on a vehicle with various lights and accessories possibly operating, to maintain the voltage. The maintaining voltage is 13.25, which is perfect in my opinion. Highly recommend. ... show more

Works great on my deep cell as well as LiFePo batteries. The only issue I had (non issue) was the mounting holes are a little small. Feels well made.

    • Smart Charger for Flooded and LiFePO4
Size: 12V @ 5.0 AMP
If you are not familiar with smart charger technology, read about it. Such chargers include a sensor for batteries that are sulphated and need rejuvenation or desulphation. This is a must to extend the life of the battery. Batteries may last 3 times longer when sulphation is eliminated. This desulphation process is automatic and requires no action by user. I have several brands of smart chargers with desulphation capabilities. However, this Suuwer also charges LiFePO4 batteries. These batteries are becoming more popular in certain applications but not all 12V chargers can handle LiFePO4. The Suuwer charges both. I like the LED light feature but wish the Suuwer had a digital read out of battery stage. I have other charges that do and it is nice to see if battery under charge is 89% or what percent charged. This is more detail than just the LED. I dropped one star because this charger does only 12V so no option for 6V. This charger also has a fixed amperage of charge which is good for larger batteries but for small batteries like in motorcycles, less amperage for charge would be preferable. Bottom line, if you need more amperage and voltage options along with charging only lead acid batteries, go with another brand of charger. If fixed voltage of 12V and amperage of 5A works for you and you might need to charge LiFePO4 batteries as well, buy this one. ... show more

I've used this with a portable LiPO4 battery only. Appears to work as intended. Display is clear. The charging cable includes a disconnect, so I should be able to use alternatives to the provided clip leads.

I use this with a deep cycle lithium battery and bolted it into my boat. Takes a while to charge, sometimes acts a little wanky, but it gets there and has no issues bringing it back to full power. Great purchase so far!

Suuwer offers three chargers on Amazon. I have purchased and use all three of them. The 6V/12V 1.25A model charges and maintains the 6V battery in a string trimmer. The 12V 2.0A model maintains the car battery. And the 12V 5A model maintains three agm batteries for use during a power outage. All three chargers work well and hopefully will continue to do so. This battery charger has been used for two months, so far, to keep a seldom-used car's battery "up to snuff." The car winters outdoors in temperatures as low as 10F. The car is used every two or three weeks and has had no problem starting.
