These would work great if using on outside of window frame. I measured for it to fit inside frame. Light shows all around it because of that. If you want complete blackout measure for outside of frame.

    • Extremely hard to open/close
We bought 10 of these shades in hopes to have a modern solution to blinds in our new home. We have returned all but 3. Only reason we haven’t returned the 3 is due to not having the original box it came in which is required. The cord on these is almost impossible to open/close. It’s almost like it is stuck and won’t roll up or down. We didn’t just experience this with one or two but several blinds. I wouldn’t recommend buying these unless you want to use hulk strength to open and close them on a daily basis. ... show more

Once I got the shade on the window, it works great. I like that the cord is anchored so I don’t have to worry about my kid/animals injuring themselves. Installation was difficult because the sizing is off a little. I ordered the 70” my window is 72” so I would have enough room to accommodate the roller mechanism. It still did not fit, the tube was too long. I didn’t have a way to trim the tube so I just hung it on the window frame instead of inside it. It still works but it would have looked nicer on the inside of the frame. ... show more

Due to the design of the mounting brackets, there is a 1/2-1 in. gap between the roller shades and the window/wall they are meant to black out. Through these gaps they let in a copious amount of light. Had they not advertised as "blackout" I would have given them four stars, but for false advertisement they get one. ... show more
