Really has a long heart, the last one I had had a short one. I like this one better. I don't know which one heats better but this one seems to work good. I like the time or better. Seems like a good product to me. I would buy another one. Matter of fact I might get my wife one for Christmas. She has a bigger bed. I have to sleep sleep back in the room by myself. I'm disabled. Can't walk. It's nice and soft to me. Has a nice texture to it. My wife needs one. I think I might get her a queen size. Hope it has two heat controls. I like being able to turn it up to 12 hours when I feel like it couldn't do that on my old one either. It ran out at 12:00 on this one. If it's at 6:00 you can go ahead and turn that back up to 12. I’ve had this blanket a few weeks and I love it. Saves a ton on heating bills! Even if it were to cost the same, it keeps me much warmer than having the wall furnace in the living room on full blast while I sleep in the bedroom. (No furnace in the bedroom). It gets warm pretty quickly. Yes it’s thin and you can feel the wires but I think that’s the point. If it were thick, then the blanket material would insulate the user from the heat of the wires. The point is to feel the heat of the wires, which requires less insulation, so it only makes sense to have thinner blanket material. I use a sheet under the blanket and a comforter over it. I barely notice the wires. I got this brand name electric blanket because I read numerous reviews of another electric blanket that has a nearly 5.0 rating stating that it stopped working after three months and the customer care was nonexistent. In contrast, I figure that SunBeam will stand behind its product. Yes a bit more expensive but not too bad. I had an electric blanket as a kid and then didn’t have one for about 40 years. Wow, I waited way too long!!! I had forgotten how comfortable it is not to freeze in my bed while I wait for my body heat and breath to warm it up! I really recommend this blanket. Just keep in mind that I’ve only had it a few weeks as I’m writing this, so I can’t speak to longevity. Update: I’ve had this blanket a few months, and I still love it! Yes, it can seem a little uneven in the heating sometimes, but it’s not too bad, and I’m not sure if any other blanket would be better. We are still taking about the same technology, and I think that all reasonably priced wires are predisposed to that. I have the dual control king/cal king, and I turn both sides in to the same setting since I sleep alone. Yah it’s great. I highly recommend it! ... show more

I bought this blanket last year and stored it all summer. I just got it back out for winter and I am remembering how much I love it. I turn it on while I am getting ready for bed and by the time I get in, it's toasty and warm. It feels amazing. I washed it once before putting it away last year. It wasn't difficult to disconnect and the wiring seems fine, but I am careful to sandwich the blanket between a sheet and a top blanket so my dogs don't damage it and it doesn't need to be washed often. The dogs are on top of the top blanket so they get a little warmth and don't overheat, but I am underneath the sheet and I get most of the benefit. ... show more

I initially had a love hate relationship with this blanket and it wasn't the first electric blanket I got. I like the fabric of this one the most of the others I've tried because it's more plush and ligh the throw blankets people give around the holidays. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I felt the heating was very uneven and sometimes non existent but it works best on the higher levels. My cats love it because WARM. ... show more

Great purchase so far, I've had it about 3 weeks. I'd first bought a fluffier blanket with more features on the controller, but it kept slipping off the bed! Every morning the blanket would be sliding onto the floor from between the sheet and outer lightweight blanket like a piece of bologna from between 2 pieces of bread. Irritating - returned it after 3 nights of trying to make it work. This blanket is more like felt (not fluffy and slippery) and stays put. The controller is automatically set at level 6 (out of 12) each time you turn it on (does not remember your setting from last time, like the slippery one I tried) so that's slightly irritating but I can live with it. Also, the buttons on the controller make a fairly loud "click" which can be loud for a light-sleeping bed-partner. It takes a while to heat up fully, maybe 12-15 min. so plan ahead . Overall I am very happy with this purchase and it was more reasonably priced, too! ... show more
