It is always good to have a tyre inflator handy. I have carried one around for years, but it has always been one of the power-cord types which plugs into the rarely-used and ever-more-archaic 12v "Cigarette lighter" socket. So a rechargeable tyre inflator is an idea whose time has come. Having never purchased a Sun Joe item before, I picked this one up as a prime deal or somesuch; it is excellent value. It does an excellent job, and is well worth the shekels. My one issue - and it is a significant one - is build quality. The valve mechanism feels cheap and flimsy. I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect it will be the first thing to break. At the other end of the tube, the collar where it attaches to the main body is removable, but there seems to be no way that the tube assembly can be readily removed. My advice to Sun Joe is to either improve the quality of the valve assembly, or make it easily replaceable if it breaks. Postscript: Shortly after purchasing this item, I purchased a Sun Joe Leaf Blower, also on a deal. To my delight, they use identical batteries. So that's a bonus... ... show more

I don't think anyone should get in a vehicle without an air compressor in case of leaking tires. I've used several cheap ones for years with mixed results. Seems that every "cigarette lighter" in every vehicle I've owned eventually all go out. So, if you have one of those tire inflators that requires that, you're screwed. Then, a friend of mine showed up one day with one of these rechargeable ones and I was blown away. No cord! So, I just had to get me one. After a couple of tries I ended up with this company's version. It's great, it's dependable. Pros: 1. Portable, lightweight 2. Rechargeable, no cord needed (although a cord is provided as an alternative) 3. Automatically shuts off at the exact amount of pressure you need. 4. Convenient built in flashlight. You get it. My mother saw mine and wanted one, so I got her this one for Christmas, just like mine! ... show more

This is the second one we purchased. IMO it's a "must have" item when it's hot or cold outside and you need to put air in your tires, etc. at home or on the road. The battery charge lasts a long time and you can just set the desired psi, ksi, or whatever measurement you use and it will show your present air pressure and automatically fill your tire and automatically shut off when it meets the targeted amount you selected. There is no need to screw on the hose to your valve cover because it simply slips on, locks down, and do the reverse to quickly remove it in a second. I unfortunately had a similar experience to others with the unit getting hot then blowing the hose after only a couple uses. No complaints about it's ability to inflate and the compressor still works but the hose melts off at the attachment point and is not repairable. I had this air compressor for almost 2 years. It saved me many times when I need to top-off or inflate the whole tire after fixing. I had few other portable battery powered air compressors - all of them are too slow for car tire so I only use them for bikes. This air compressor has no problem inflating the tire of a passenger car. After 2 years the hose did give up, but after contacting SunJoe, I have received replacement within few days! Great customer service. I also have other tools by Sunjoe and I really like that I can move batteries from one tool to another. I'll keep buying more products by this company that stands behind it's products. ... show more
