I like my chili really spicy so I use the entire contents then I add additional crushed red pepper flakes to increase the heat because for me it isn't spicy enough. It has a slightly sweet taste if you leave it as is. I add a large can of diced tomatoes to it because it improves the taste and they dissolve if you add early in the slow cooker. Sometimes I add pinto beans but at that point it is no longer chili. I also use beer instead of the broth. This mix does fine with 2-2.5 pounds of meat as long as you add other things like I do but if you don't then you may want to stick strictly to the directions but I imagine most people just use this as a starting point like me. ... show more

These chili packs are typically very good and even better when adding steak rather than ground beef. The actually product is not the problem. The problem is the shop. All of my packages showed up damaged by water and were moist with mold growing on the outside. I will never buy from this shop ever again! ... show more

This is a picky eater approved chili Kit. I would definitely use this kit if I was cheating in a chili competition- just kidding, but this kit is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this. I also appreciate the ability to change the heat levels.

So Disappointed in this product! When it was received they were covered in dirt and dust. Most of the bags had puncture marks! Don’t waste your money! There is also no refund or return option available.

We do not put any of the 'hot' season packet in our chili; it is hot enough and my husband likes it hot, but he never uses the 'hot' packet at all. The first time we tried it we put a tiny bit of the hot seasoning in; it was too hot with just a pinch. Beware

(+): Excellent taste, heat level can easily be adjusted with packet, best slow cooker chili out there (-): None We use this all the time and became disappointed when our local grocery stores stopped carrying it. Thank you Amazon for coming to the rescue! And at a better price! We add a can of kidney beans, chili (pinto beans), garlic cloves and stewed tomatoes to make this chili off the charts! Excellent product, particularly in a slow cooker. I used half pork and half beef (both ground), making sure to skim off all of the fat before serving. The result was a very richly flavored chili, with a hint of slightly sweet barbecue. Though you can cater the heat to your tolerance by the amount of dry spice you add, unless you have no tolerance at all you can add most or all of what is provided without burning your mouth. ... show more

Like the title says - This is my new Go-To chili sauce! Minimal ingredients and great taste! So far we have tried this using the "Add Wine" option. The results are fantastic chili using some cheap Trader Joe's Cabernet. I'll be trying the "Add Beer" option soon!
