  • Excellent Kids Game
This is a really simple push your luck game that kids anywhere from 4-10 should be able to enjoy. The tension is high and it is just fun to play. Get this if you have young kids and you are looking to get them something beyond the traditional roll and move games like monopoly, candy land, etc. If they play this enough they should easily be able to pick up on the concept of games like Incan Gold. Rulebook Very clearly written and the rules are so simple that it is not hard at all to understand. Components The components are great and really add to the enjoyment of the game. The planks have magnets embedded in them so that they stick to the ship, which is the upside down box. The character pieces are painted elephants that the kids really enjoyed. The cards are decent quality and should hold up over numerous plays. Gameplay So, so simple. On your turn you simply draw cards out on the board until you are ready stop. The more cards you draw, the more weight that the other players have to put on the end of their planks. There is a number of weights above each card area on the small board that tells you the number they have to put out. However, if you draw two of the same cards then they don't have to put out any weights and you have to go one step forward on the plank. First person to fall off loses the game and the other players are the winners. We modified this to keep playing until there is only one person remaining. The kids had a lot of fun with this and one and I can't recommend it enough! ... show more

  • Great Game for Younger Players and Parents
Ravensburger is a great game company that has put out titles like Labyrinth, Jungle Cruise and Wonder Woman. This is a fun little "press-your-luck" game that is enjoyable to set up and play. The components are well made and the rules are easy to understand. This game should be easy enough for ages 5 and up to understand and still be fun for parents to play too. Setup: Take out all the game pieces and flip the box over. The bottom of the box becomes the game board. There are 4 planks that magnetically attach to the box. You then place your crew member on the starting footprints of the plank. Then you shuffle up the 49 cards (7 different objects) and place the deck next to the flip-out board. Then place the wooden "cargo" tokens next to the board and you're all set to play. Play: On your turn you reveal one card at a time and decide whether or nor you want to press your luck and keep going, or stop and make other players add cargo to their planks. The more cards you flip, the more cargo the other players have to add to their planks. If you keep revealing cards and find a match, your turn is over and you have to move your crew member further out on the plank. If your plank falls from too much cargo or being out too far, you're out of the game. If you're the last one standing you win. The other way to win is to successfully flip 6 non-matching cards in a row. So if your looking for a game that plays quickly, involves risk taking and has a great look and feel to it, Stomp the Plank is for you. ... show more

  • Fun Game
This game has been a lot of fun to play with my kids. It's the type of game where you push your luck, and that can be a lot of fun with kids, because oftentimes, my kids will push their luck way too much. I think this game will help them learn some restraint. On your turn, you draw cards from a deck, that consists of 7 different types of cards. If you ever draw a card that you've already drawn this turn, you bust, meaning you have to walk your elephant forward on your plank. If you choose to stop before you bust, the number of cards you've drawn determines how many wooden tokens all your opponents have to place on the ends of their planks. The planks stay connected to the box with magnets, but eventually there will be too much weight and the plank (along with everything on it) will fall. It's a fun and quick game that my kids love. It's a simple enough concept for my 4 year old to handle without any issues, but fun enough for me to still enjoy. Definitely recommend! ... show more

  • Fun push your luck game!
I'm not a big fan of push your luck games in general, but this one was actually quite a lot of fun for a kid's game. I played with my three- and six-year-old grandchildren, and they seem to enjoy it quite a bit. It's rated for five and up and I think that's about right. The three-year-old could play it okay but didn't really understand the strategy, so we just told him when to stop and what to do. All of the components are very good quality. The clever use of magnets in the box bottom are what make this game work. The rules are very short and simple, and setup and teardown are super quick. I think this will get a lot of plays. ... show more

  • Very adorable and cute little game for little ones and parents. Miniatures are painted!
First off the rules are simple and easy to read and follow. You should be playing in a matter of minutes. The planks are actually held in place by little magnets. Daughter 10, wife and I played with game one evening and it was a lot of fun. We played many rounds and as simple as it is, we had a lot of laughs, and that is what it was all about. There is some strategy, but a lot of "push your luck" and of course there is the random element of the cards. All the components are top notch and well made. The insert and the box itself are also well made, nice and sturdy. This is definitely a top shelf game with a lot of fun to be had with kids. The adorable elephants are painted, and this would make a lovely gift for anyone that is age appropriate. ... show more

  • Great game
I'll be honest... when i first saw this game come up, i almost passed on it. From the pictures, it looked like it was made from cheap cardboard and most hands little kids can play, end up being boring for the rest of the family (for us at least). I'm glad i didn't pass it up though, because i was wrong on all accounts. The peices to the game are sturdy and legitimate quality. I think when i saw them using the bottom of the box for the game is what made me think it looked cheap, but the box is actually really cool in person. As far a the game play, it's really fun. It is simple enough for our 4 year old, yet still brings in an element of strategy and excitement of the unknown. This really is a great game for the whole family and i highly recommend it. ... show more

  • This game was so fun
This game is so great for all ages. My kids are 8, 6, and 4 and they were all able to play. It was super fun and went pretty quick. They played it three times right in a row. I loved watching them have a great time and hoping their pirates didn’t fall. One of our planks the magnet isn’t working but other than that the game is perfect and would be a great gift. It’s the perfect amount of card game, board game, and being interactive. ... show more
