    • DECIDE IT YOU WANT CONTROLLED USAGE FIRST! Great unit that works perfect!
First and foremost, this "Charger" (EVSE) has controlled access. Meaning, if you don't have the RFID card to start it, then you will not be charging! This is GOOD if you want to limit access for whatever reason, but if you don't want or need the controlled access, then consider if this will bother you. Second, for reference, I have been using a Grizzl-e unit for over a year now, and love it, but that is my main experience until now. I got this charger to put in at my shop at work so that I can charge there if I need to, so decided I try this STOKE VOLTAICS unit out and see what I think. So far, so good! I believe that it is important that a chargers like this are SIMPLE, and EFFECTIVE (do the job!) as well as ROBUST so that you aren't wasting your money. No one wants to be fiddling with digital screens and buttons most of the time (back end analytics are fine, but not BEFORE you can charge!), they just want to juice their car up! Does this charger work? YES. The first time I went to use this, I was outside, in pouring rain, and I hadn't even mounted it yet. I set in on the fence, plugged it in, plugged it to my car, tapped the card, and it worked immediately! No fuss, No muss. Simple, Effective, Robust (it was raining hard remember!) Over the last few days we've gotten over 3" of rain, and I see no issue. Notes: --The cord length appears to be a Combined, Overall length. Meaning a 3' lead and a 23' cable to the car for 26' total. -- The cord you plug into the wall outlet IS MUCH LONGER THAN MOST! Many I have looked at are only 1-1.5' long, and this is a refreshing difference! Very easy to plug in without a struggle. Trust me, this will matter if you have your outlet mounted in a bad spot. -- By way of comparison, my other charger has thicker cables, both of them are probably 30-40% larger. This is PROBABLY because my other charger is able to deliver 40amps from a 50amp circuit, vs this STOKE branded one which is only rated to 32amps. --> THAT IS OKAY THOUGH as most of the cars can only use 32amps, unless it is a TESLA (I think) but you need an adaptor then. So this is just a comment. --Frankly, for me, I don't know if needing and RFID card to activate the charger will annoy me over time. FOR ME, I don't need the security, so might somehow attach the card near by so I don't have to carry it, or if at some point I direct a friend to charge there, it's possible. --LASTLY, although everything seems to work well and I have used it a few times, IF something does come up with it that isn't good, I will come back here and amend this review to reflect that. Everything works good. I like it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this brand or unit to a friend as everything seems to be quality, fine workmanship, and materials. This is really solid, especially being you don't need to install it out connect it via hardwiring to electrical box, rather plug in to outlet. Charges my hybrid well.

Does it’s job, haven’t timed it, but it seems to work on Tesla. Value for the money. And can be used as a back up or if you travel.

I am pleased with this charger, plug it in and activate with the RF card. It is that easy. Charger feels well made with nice heavy cables. The plugs are well made and fit nice and snug. I would buy again. 5 STARS
