Stella Cherry Tree 1 Year Old, 6-10” Tall, Grafted On Prunus Avium. The Stella cherry is a very sweet large variety that has been one of our favorites here at Ison’s. The fruit is very delicious and plump and a pleasure to your palate. Berries are bold red in color and ideal for fresh eating, freezing, canning and baking. These berries resist cracking. Stella also bears at a young age and is self-fertile. Ripen in mid July. Fully mature cherry tree grow to about 18-25′ tall and wide. Cherry trees make excellent shade trees as well as providing delicious fruit. Trees are 4-5′ with a 1/2″ caliper Zones 4-8 Chill Hours: 600-700 NOTE: Stella is a self-fertile but will produce more fruit when planting with a different sweet cherry variety. Latin Name: Prunus avium Site and Soil: 1/2 day to full sun and well-drained soil. Rootstock Description: Colt is considered a semi-dwarf rootstock which produces trees about 80% of standard size. Colt is adapted to most soils and is hardy, vigorous, productive, and forms a well-branched tree.
