I purchased this brand of Manuka Honey upon recommendation of my friend, fellow dog lover, who also happened to be my physical therapist at the time. She rescued an older pit bull with a need for good dental care. Being older, he couldn’t manage going in for a dental with a vet. (He was considered an anesthesia risk). My Friend began brushing her dog’s teeth regularly with Manuka with amazing results. Within a month the tarter was gone and after a year his dental condition’s improved so dramatically that she’s using it for all her dogs now. For my part, I find it easy to use my pups. They love the taste and their teeth look great.(really saves money too as I can have their dental cleanings fewer and farther between) On another note: I should also tell about my sore throat. Early on in the COVID pandemic I had the sore throat of a life time. (I The also had lost all sense of taste.) The pain from the sore throat was so intense that it kept me from sleeping. I scanned the medicine cupboard that night looking for throat spray, or losenger, or SOMETHING, to relieve the pain. Then it occurred to me to try Manuka. It was a miracle. The honey coated my throat and the pain evaporated.IMMEDIATELY! The honey rolled down my esophagus coating and soothing as it went. By morning sore throat was gone, and taste returned. I don’t know what happened. I only know I had a crisis with pain that night, and it instantly disappeared with Manuka Honey that very night. Some months later; On an unrelated illness: I had to go to the hospital for three days for a pre existing long term issue that came up. Upon returning home from hospital I found a red splotch on my face. I had a staff infection! Standard staff infection treatment requires antibiotics. My kidneys can’t do internal antibiotics right now so I tried the Manuka Honey on it. Firstly I was STUNNED that as I applied that first coating over the red splotch in STUNG! It was like putting old fashioned iodine on a cut. The stinging was much less than that, but surprisingly distinct. It only stung slightly on that first application—enough to let me know it was working. I continued the topical application of the Steens Manuka Honey on the staff infection splotch for the next few days. By day three the footprint of the splotch was reduced to barely a shadow from the red angry splotch it had been. By day four the entire staff infection was gone!     • Good Manuka! Disappointing claims

I’ve been using Manuka Honey for years and willingly pay the high price. No complaints about $$$. Because of the price, every now and again I try different brands than the one I prefer. This time around I tried Steens after reading about the purity, the processing and the fact that I can track my pot of honey using the provided batch number. So, I got the number, went to the website and all I got for my tracking number was a pretty picture of what is claimed to be the origin of the honey and a description of that area. That’s not tracking, that’s just showing a picture of some water and grass (in my case) and saying this is where it’s from. Big deal! Nowhere did this tracking number did it give any other details. If they misled me there than I find the rest suspicious. So maybe I’m being to nitpicky. But for the extra $$, I wanted to learn more about the actual hives, the plant it was processed in, the location and conditions of its storage, etc...in other words, how was this handled and under what conditions and so on. Other than that, I guess the consumer must believe that the process is as pure as they say. I took one star off for the disappointment of not getting to actually track my honey. Now for the taste - it’s pretty good! I’ve had similar tasting 15+ honey so it’s not extraordinary. The one I like is Happy Valley and I keep going back to it. It’s reasonably priced and really creamy and delicious. Steens is delicious as well but just a tad grainier. I don’t notice a difference in its medicinal value as to how it makes me feel. (both are 15+). I would say this is good honey and if you can afford the extra $$$ than definitely try it. Otherwise I also recommend Happy Valley Manuka Honey. ... show more

I’ve been using Manuka honey for several years. I don’t have the best health and every little cut I would get would get infected. Now I don’t even keep any antibacterial creams in the house. As soon as I get a little nick- the honey and Band-Aid goes on and I’ve never had a single infection. I also have celiac and Crohn’s disease. I take the honey on a very regular basis- especially anytime I start to have a flare and it does a lot to help my issues. It really seems to help my flares within a few days. Less pain and flares calm more quickly. I switched this honey several months ago when the price of my old honey rose dramatically. I have seen this one offered on Amazon for years but had never previously tried it. I’m kind of bummed about that now because this is a very very good honey. I like the taste and consistency. It does excellent job on anything I’ve used it for. I am currently getting over a pretty bad Crohn’s flare and I upped the amount of honey I was taking to a spoonful every few hours. I was surprised to feel better the day after upping it. It doesn’t usually work quite that fast. I don’t know for sure but I can only guess that it’s this honey. And the cost seems to stay pretty steady. They ship it in a box with enough packaging to keep it in excellent shape. I’ve never had leaks or any issues.
