Fantastic set to have. I use the 1/4" the most as it fits into the tight spaces and can give you some good leverage also. The other 2 get there fair share of use too. Full time Professional mechanics should have this type of ratchets set, BUT in the long run they would be better off finding the best quality swivel head extending ratchet's set they can find, like Snap on... as these will likly be your most used tool in your tool box. Over the years they will be worth the extra $$$. But, for me a retired mechanic on a budget this set is great... very good for DIY mechanics. The extra leverage these can provide will likely get abused because the extra length multiples the force on the head exponentially. I found myself using the 1/2 fully extended to apply mega force were i probably should have been using a 3/4 breaker bar. But it held up fine, so... yeah best money spent on a tool for me in a very long time ... show more

This too is great for getting at nuts and bolts from various difficult angles, Especially in tight spots on a car. The ability to extend the handle gives you more torque when you have the room to do so. I find it really useful for getting to the bolts on the backside of wheels when changing brake pads.
