  • Great compact network rack with enough room for simple networking setup
Size: 6U Pattern: Panel Bracket
The StarTech.com 6U Wall Mount Network Rack - 14 Inch Deep (Low Profile) is a great compact rack with enough room for a simple network setup. Fits in small spaces either on a shelf or even mounted on a wall. Clean and simple. One piece unit, no panels or parts to put together. Finish is very good (nice paint, edges not sharp, not plastered with branding labels). Came with hardware to get started with attaching shelves or components. Other manufacture items (i.e. shelves, switches, patch panel, power bank, etc.). Packaging was great with the unit securely inside a heavy card box. The next rack size up is also a very nice and compact enough. ... show more

  • Excellent quality
Size: 4U Pattern: Panel Bracket + Rack Shelf 10''
Perfect small wall mount rack. This panel is very sturdy!! doesn't flex at all. Same for the shelf that is offered with the rack. Mounting holes are designed for a "captured" nut to be installed before adding the component. Mount the nut to the inside of the rack face! Didn't have much in the way of instructions... but easy enough to setup. ... show more

  • Very good rack for the cost - but use better screws for mounting
Size: 6U Pattern: Panel Bracket
#1 recommendation - do NOT use the provided screws to attach this rack to the wall. Especially do not use such a light drywall anchor for a heavier item such as this. Fully loaded, this can weigh quite a bit. The picture attached shows a 1/4-1 inch screw that attaches the rack to a plywood panel. If you want a lasting installation, use a piece of plywood that is anchored to studs, then you can use heavy screws to attach - and use all four. Having said all that - there is a slight amount of flex on the back, I wish the screw holes had been placed more outboard (next to the sides) to prevent this. However, given the load I have on this I used the existing holes and they are fine. As other reviewers have noted, only 12 cage nuts are provided, which is usually just good for 3u worth of devices. Aside from the above, this is a nifty little rack and I am very pleased with it. ... show more

  • Warming: DO NOT USE INCLUDE MOUNTING HARDWARE
Size: 6U Pattern: Panel Bracket
This is a very well made and priced rack. The only negative is one week after mounting it using the included mounting hardware in drywall it fell off the wall at 1:30AM!! Looking at the mounts the plastic Anchors actually broke (never seen that before), and there was less than 10lbs on the rack ( only three slots were used). Buy, but use different wall mounting anchors!! ... show more

  • StarTech.com 6U Wall Mount Network Rack
Size: 6U Pattern: Panel Bracket
Perfect for a home network - well priced, decently made, and took me to the "next level" with my home networking equipment. Easy to install and sturdy. There is a horizontal brace that can be top or bottom mounted depending on what you have installed, which will give the rack the proper squared up dimensions to install standard width network equipment in. Keep in mind that this rack has some flex in the vertical side panels which will disappear once a couple of items are installed in it. Check out "Budget Nerd"s YouTube channel for a nice little primer on this setup; Tom Lawrence also has a nice video on his "Lawrence Systems" YouTube channel called "DIY Home Rack Build" which goes over some great options for modular keystone patch panels. I installed this on a stud framed wall in my basement, a work in progress. I'll likely sheath the stud wall in plywood to give me flexibility to mount other networking equipment as needed. ... show more

  • Plan on buying replacement hardware.
Size: 8U Pattern: Panel Bracket
I love almost everything about this rack. Not too big, not too small, feels sturdy, looks good. Using this for a home network with LAN drops in every room. The open design worked well for my purposes. My biggest issue was the mounting itself. First on that, it does come with M5 (not M6 as described) cage nuts and bolts. I was mounting this to some open studs by myself which is always a little awkward. Anyhow, the provided wood screws’ heads were exactly the same size as the holes in the back of the rack. This means that you can’t screw in the wood screws and place the rack over them and slide it in to place. You would HAVE to have someone else hold it in place while you screwed it in. I also managed to strip 3 out of the 6 provided so I went out a bought #10 x 1-1/2in screws to replace the originals. They worked perfectly. I was able to slide the rack right over the top of them which made the mounting take all but 10 minutes with 9/64 pilot holes. After it was mounted, everything is perfect and beautiful. Pros: Cost, value, aesthetics, size, prime delivery, relatively light weight, sturdy. Cons: Hardware (both M5 cage nuts which should have been M6 as well as the awful wood screws) ... show more

  • great for the price, install was quick but there are some things to know
Size: 8U Pattern: Panel Bracket
I installed this in my garage so that I could setup my network gear there. Its an older home and I discovered the studs were not exactly 16" apart so i had to tweet the mounting at bit. Also make sure you have a long extension bit as even my small impact drill was hitting the side while screwing in fasteners. The included ones work but I am not a fan of using philips so I swapped 2 of them for 1 1/2" square drive screws that were a bit stronger. Would buy again ... show more
