You have to completely clean off residual adhesive. Once that's done, the Starrett sticks strongly. It's accurate, and protrudes little enough that my fence does not scrape it, as happened with my old one over time.

I needed a tape measure for my mitre saw table. This worked perect inlaid into my table. I ordered a left and right tape. I still need to finish routing the second inlay but very happy with the product.

I used this to replace the OEM tape on my Delta table saw which, because of its inaccuracy, was useless. I deferred to the well-established and well-deserved Starrett quality and was not disappointed. It's spot on wrt accuracy.
