I love this tape measure. I was able to take measurements up to 12’ as I measured, cut, and installed 13 i-joists to create a second floor for anew bedroom. This usually requires two people on step ladders to hold the tape measure and even then you get tape sag. Not with this device. All measurements had to be within 1/16” accuracy and they were. This enabled me to complete the job by myself. Pretty amazing and each recharge takes about 15 minutes and last for weeks. For short easy measurements, I use the tape. I love it.     • Laser isn't very accurate, but the tape is excellent.
Laser measurements with this tape have been hit or miss for me. They've been up to 1/4 in (64mm) off at times. It appears to me this is due to the laser being somewhat misaligned with the bottom of the housing. I wouldn't recommend using it for anything that needs any degree of precision. But it's great for quick, rough estimates. The saving grace is the tape itself, which I can extend to 9+ ft (almost 3m) before it breaks. Both sides have measurement marks, and the back has both metric and imperial units. The magnets on the end are strong, but not too strong. When I reel it in, I don't feel like it's going to whip around and take my eye out. There may be traditional tapes out there with similar or better quality, but the additional function of the laser, for the price, makes this a pretty OK product. ... show more

    • Great little tool to have!
This tool is great! It has a 16” measuring tape and 135ft laser measuring. I don’t do any major jobs in my house, so I can’t speak to its durability under such conditions, but for my purposes, it has been extremely useful and the laser measurement is great to take quick distances. Some have mentioned about the battery life being too short. While keeping in mind that I’m not a heavy user, I just moved to a new house and I’ve been using it almost daily and I still haven’t used up the first battery charge. YMMV of course, but over all, it is very reasonable battery lifetime. Even if not, it recharges pretty quick over a USB connection. I would recommend this measuring tape and would buy it again. ... show more

I am a DIYer. I do not measure hundreds of feet at a time so when I am measuring I usually measure something like 98 and 3/16ths (inches). This only shows fractions when you set it to "Feet Inch (fraction/inch)". If you set it to just inches it would show "98.1875". The laser tape measure is VERY accurate. The tape itself is not very wide, I found myself reaching for my fatmax for measuring longer boards (10 ft). The layout of the buttons means that your hand always blocks the readout. I found myself accidentally turning it on as it bounced around my toolbelt pouch. While gripping it I hit the buttons by accident multiple times, changing the measurement from "end of device" to "front of device". It's not bad for $40 but far from perfect. ... show more

I've tested the laser on this and it very accurate! Only thing I would've like more if the tape measure has additional labels between each inch. ( eg. 3/8, 5/8, etc...)

Assuming this tool performs consistently, it's likely to be a game changer. I paid my way through high school and college working construction, primarily doing carpentry. Most hand-held tapes were accurate to no more than 1/8" because of play at the riveted tape end, so on anything but rough framing or form work I preferred a folding tape with a sliding end piece. So when I bought this, I was amazed to find it is accurate to 1/32". It will give very repeatable results to 1/64", but since I can't cut that accurately I consider that degree of precision to be suspect. For the type of projects I work on this is more than precise enough, and more importantly it's repeatable over hours, minutes, days, and months. As an example, I did a 'rear seat delete' on my Mustang convertible, and used this rule to measure the interior dimension between the left and right bulkheads at the top of the seat bench. I put a piece of electrical tape on each side where I measured, and a couple of months later checked the measurement; it was identical to the 64th of an inch. Repeatability is as important when building something as it is when zeroing in a rifle, and this unit is something to count on. An added bonus is the rechargeable battery. After weeks of use, I got a low battery indication. Expecting to deal with sourcing some rare button cell or camera type battery, I was happy to find it uses a USB C connection to charge. ... show more
