  • I keep coming back to these!
Size: 1/4 in
These endmills have tolerated a lot of abuse that other, more expensive endmills have not, as I learn machining fundamentals. While they don't have the MRR that some of the more expensive tools do (at least, not for my setup) they make up for it in their value! I machine 3/4" ATP-5 plate and 6061 aluminum stock on a CNC router with a 220v 3HP spindle and I have yet to have any chip welding issues (Keeping an effective feed per tooth of at least 0.001 - 0.0017" and using an IPA mist). All the parts I cut from plate stock I slot along a contour to save time and I believe this thing will slot for miles, with a proper set up and leaves a very professional floor and wall finish. The chip evacuation is excellent even deep in the slot or pocket. The carbide is very high quality and the grind is punching way above its weight. I couldn't find any published speeds & feeds from Star Tool, but I've come to find that this cutter does not like high RPMs as it creates a lot of chatter and a poor finish. So, if you have a spindle that can't go below 10K RPM that is something to consider. I've gotten the best results with 600-700 SFM on all operations. I plan on keeping a good amount of these cutters on hand and buying some of their corner radius tools from their website because they are such a good quality, USA Made tool at a killer price. I'm still going to keep experimenting with other cutters to shave as much time as I can off machining for business sake, but I'll have the peace-of-mind knowing I've got these tools to catch me when I crash.... my new fancy tool. ... show more

  • Router bit
Size: 1/4 in
I used this tool in a router to cut slots in aluminum. After shortening it to 2 inches, it worked just fine. Thanks for the great selection and quick shipping.

  • American made
Size: 1/4 in
Quality tool definitely has a better edge than the import tools I have purchased in the past

  • Great quality
Size: 1/4 in
Purchased this to use on some angle aluminum for a project, cut slots in .250 aluminum with no issues and great finish on the cuts

  • Works like a dream
Size: 5/16"
Cut great and clean, no issue, no chatter, no clogging for me. only wish I got one with a 1/2 or 3/8 cut length

  • Good quality American tool.
Size: 1/4 in
The media could not be loaded. Made in USA. Sharp and Strong. Been running it full slot no problems.

  • Decent little end mill
Size: 1/4 in
So far they work great. I have not got to test them in 4140 yet but that is on the to do list.

  • Poor performance, sluggish cutting.
Size: 5/16"
I was really looking forward to this bit for cutting aluminum, but sadly it was a huge disappointment. Perhaps I got a lemon, but much to my surprise it was put to shame by far cheaper bits from China. After cutting one small aluminum display stand, I had to stop and change back to a cheapo bit from China that had already cut eight stands. Imagine my surprise… but that’s the truth. I wish I could get my money back. ... show more
