    • Definite upgrade to the old propane heater
Note that there is a $10 coupon currenlty in effect. I ordered the Star Patio Electric Patio Heater with Remote to replace a free standing propane heater on my outdoor deck. The propane heater worked well enough, but it took up a lot of space on the deck, and it was a hassle to replace the propane tank when empty. This electric patio heater takes up considerably less space mounted on the wall, and there is obviously no need to replace propane tanks. The heater comes with a sturdy, adjustable mount. There is some assembly required, but it is fairly straightforward. The manual doesn't specify which screws to use in each step, but it is obvious once you start. There is also one step in the manual that seems extraneous as those parts were already assembled out of the box. The remote is a great feature, so you don't have to reach up to the heater to turn it on or off. It also comes with a long string switch, so if you can't use the remote for one reason or another, you can turn the heater on or off without getting a ladder. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries, but they are not included. Honestly, the hardest part of setting this up is figuring out where you want to install it. It comes with 4 expanding bolts that securely hold the heater in place. I love that this is IP55 waterproof. While I installed my heater under eaves, it's good to know that it won't be damaged if a strong storm blows some rainwater onto it. My deck is small enough that one heater does provide decent heat for it, but I'm considering getting a second one for fuller coverage. Recommended. ... show more

    • Terrible heater
I put it out on my pergola and it worked for about 2 days. Now it has power but no heat. Junk like a lot of them I used. Like to get a refund.

    • Good heat output
This is a nice outdoor heater that puts out quite a bit of heat. The remote is convenient and it also has a pull string to turn it on and off. I like that the head swivels in a variety of directions so that you can point it where you want it, and the mounting bracket keeps it away from the surface area that it’s mounted to. I was concerned about it getting hot in the area above it which would be a fire hazard, but it doesn’t appear to get hot on the outside of the frame and the heat goes exactly where you point it to. My only complain so far is that the instructions say not to use it with an extension cord, which is just about impossible as the cord isn’t very long and unless you can mount it directly above an outlet there really isn’t any other choice. This severely limits installation locations. I wish the manufacturers had thought to include a much longer cord or at least offer other options. ... show more

    • Wow warmer, great gift
I made a gift of this infrared heater to a nurse who runs her hot tub out on the patio all year long. The heater is actually in a gazebo tent with the hot tub underneath so, a lot of heat is retained which adds to the efficiency.

    • A Wonderful Addition to Our Patio
This heater is powerful! It puts out some heat! We could immediately feel the heat from 7 feet away. It has a nice design and construction, it is well built. It has a good, solid universal mounting system. The multi-angle adjustment feature ensures you can direct the heat exactly where you need it. It was well packed to protect the casing. The casing is aluminum according to the ad, however, it feels sturdier. We actually thought it was stainless steel. We like that it can be operated three ways; an on/off rocker switch, a pull cord and a remote control. It warms our patio area nicely, allowing us to spend more time outdoors on cool evenings. This is a nice, quality-made patio heater. We highly recommend it. ... show more

Haven't had much chance to use this patio heater yet, but we certainly will! We Texans love to party on the patio in the cooler summer evenings and especially in fall and winter! Well, TX's version of winter anyway. It can get a little cool, however, and as our bones are getting old, we needed to ward off the chill. Husband installed it easily and said it's easy to put up. Love that you can change the angle and there's a remote. Can't wait for the cooler weather to really try it out for a longer period! ... show more

    • Small, somewhat powerfull
This is definitely a smaller heater. Easy to use and does get hot but again it's def smaller than most you'd see. Also this is a 120v heater so I didn't expect it to be huge. This can run off a normal outlet. No need to go out and spend money on a 240v which is a huge plus.
