If you have a Volvo with a remote high pressure coolant surge tank like my '01 V70 this is the adapter you need for a pressure tester. The price is un-beatable ( snap-on wanted $78.99 ).

I received a Motorad 3118 adapter. Picture on Amazon page shows adapter with solid metal top. Item I received has a sheet metal top with an extra tab on the end. That tab makes it harder to install into the tester and much harder to remove. I am returning it for a refund. I replaced it with an Assenmacher FZ-25 which has the correct solid metal top and is easy to install and remove from the tester. I bought this for testing the cooling system of our many Volvos. It fits the expansion tank perfectly and is a very well made piece. Best part is it's made in the USA!

    • Great part but won't work on newer volvos
This does not fit 2005 and newer Volvo's. I bought this hoping the reviews saying it worked on Volvo's was accurate for my 2006, but later learned that Volvo changed the tanks around 2005 and this part fits the older style. Otherwise a great part and Amazon shipping and returns are great

    • Mounting collar separated at first use, sprayed coolant everywhere.
Pressure tester mounting collar was poorly glued into adaptor body: Glue failed at 6psi on first use. No mechanical connection present at collar. Sprayed coolant all over the place.
