I have had one of the cheaper bench vises for a couple years now. It was ok but it has some play in it and the tension screws didn’t have a lot of clearance when tightening and loosening. This vise is great. It is solid and well made. The tension screws are easier to manipulate. There is zero play in the vise even with just a few snug turns if the tension screws. It fits in my tool chest drawer nicely. It’s a big vise in a small package. I bought it to hold small craft items while I’m working on them.
