Purchased this product expressly to shred pork loin for cooking. It failed miserably in this regard. It's not sharp enough nor heavy-duty enough for the task. In fact, I'm not sure that there is ANY slicing or shredding operation that this gizmo would achieve successfully. Plus, the metal is much thinner than expected, and did not inspire confidence. We have an old beat-up salad shooter that we've been looking to replace so this looked like maybe a good replacement since we have a Kitchenaid stand mixer. It seems like a good quality heavy steel attachment and fits securely on the mixer and works. We tried it out first grating about 6-8oz cheddar cheese and then slicing a cucumber. The regular grater worked well and the cheese shreds came out nice and uniform. But because the bottom of the chute is flat and horizontal, the cheese started to get backed up in the grater and had to be removed manually. Next we sliced a cucumber with the slicing blade and it sliced very thin but ended up the same as the cheese and got stuck in the slicer and had to stop several times to remove them. Overall, it seems like a good quality accessory and it works, I just don't like that everything seems to get stuck inside into a big ball. ... show more

Works ok but any time using it to grate cheese it jams up having to remove it to clear it prior to continuing. It worked great slicing cucumbers

Grating cheese has never been easier and faster. Its easy to install on your machine. You fire it up and shove the cheese in and you have the most awesome shredded cheese. Had the shredder for only 3 hours. Worked okay. Thin stainless steel. Washed in the dishwasher and screws are already rusted. Super disappointed!
