  • HEAT YOUR POOL - Solar Sun Rings are passive solar swimming pool heating devices, constructed from two layers of U.V. resistant vinyl. The upper clear layer directs the suns rays onto the bottom blue layer which absorbs about 50% of the sunlight, converting it to heat. The remaining sunlight filters through the ring into your pool water.
  • WARMING DISCS - The majority of heat loss from a pool comes from the water surface at night. Solar Sun Rings do not cover the entire surface of your pool; therefore it allows heat to escape. To help keep the warm water in your pool at night we recommend you use additional insulation such as solar fish or a solar blanket.
  • WHAT'S INCLUDED - Each of the 3 included Solar Sun Rings contains 6 magnets that are used to attach the rings together. Do not over inflate. Do not use as a flotation device.
  • SOLAR ACTIVATED - Use the Solar Sun Rings to provide heat to your swimming pool from the sun. Swim comfortably without wasting energy
  • PLEASE NOTE - These Solar Sun Rings are NOT a solar cover or a replacement for a solar cover. These are floating disc heating devices.

  • Great Product. Great Customer Service
Purchased six of these for my new plunge pool/spa and appreciate the ease of use. They certainly do help to keep the water warm. One ring would not hold air (I think it was a faulty valve) and the company sent me a replacement within days of my contacting them. Hoping they will last me all summer!

  • Waste of over $248 regretfully bought 2 packages)
Very hard to inflate and lay flat on the water after closely following instructions. The mats are quickly becoming deflated on their own and already looking very sun faded and unsightly in a short time I’ve use, doubt they will even make it through one summer season. They also grow slimy green algae around the rings that end up falling off and sinks in the pool water. Made zero noticeable difference to the water temperature and frustratingly that was the whole purpose of them. They are a big disappointing inconvenience and waste of money, sadly ready to throw them in the trash ... show more

  • Helps greatly with Heating
I have a lot of experience with these. The first set worked well until a house guest left them in the sun. Do not do that as the disks magnify heat when exposed to sunlight and if left unprotected will damage, or destroy, any discs below them. When left in the sun, we leave a tarp over them to prevent a repeat. We live in the Southern California area. We wanted to use the pool some in late december / early January for lessons for the grandchildren. After heating the pool to 87 degrees on Wednesday for a lesson, I left the heater off all of Wednesday night and Thursday. Temperatures were a max in the low sixties diring the day and low 50s at night with rain. I was shocked Thursday evening to discover the pool water temperature was still 80 degrees! I tried different thermometers, including the one in the pool heater. The results were all 80 degrees. That is amazing! The down sides are that these are a major pain to inflate, a pain to take out of the pool, and a nuisance to save out of the sun. Nevertheless, they do a very good job! I highly recommend them. The nuisances are more than made up for by the tremendous advantages. ... show more

  • Size chart is way off
The size chart is off for ordering. I have a 24’ round pool so I ordered to the chart which was 14 rings. I still need at least 4 more rings to cover the pool. If you look at the chart the difference between a 21’ round pool and a 24’ round pool is 3’ and is only showing a 2 ring difference, but the difference between a 24’ round pool and a 27’ round pool is still only 3’ but a difference of 6 rings. We will see how they work before ordering more the price on these things is crazy. Hope I didn’t make a mistake. ... show more

  • They definitely help to warm the water.
These really do work to warm the pool, it may not be a drastic difference but there is a difference. They are far easier to deal with than a pool size cover and work just as good. The reviewers that show them bent or wrinkled didn't follow the inflation directions. If they do get like that it is easily corrected by letting a little air out of that section. ... show more

  • Don’t get your hopes up…
I was really very optimistic after reading so many positive reviews. And as a prologue, I’m quite handy and creative. First, blowing them up wasn’t super easy… but my son and I managed to unpack them and do it within 20-30 mins (6 of them total). We followed the directions and didn’t overfill the center portion. We were rewarded with nice flat circles that didn’t have any deformations. But we did have to deflate the center of our first practice circle to get the perfect shape. I was nervous about relying on only magnets to connect them… it seems a bit flimsy of a connection. But I anchored two using the ring and some rope I had to connect to some patio furniture. The rest were connected via magnets. Within 2hrs, two of the rings had blown away / out of the pool with a medium-heavy gust of wind. As I suspected, the magnets were too whimpy. Try #2 entailed anchoring 2 solar rings with each rope I had (3 together was not possible based on pool area etc)… so 4 total rings in the pool. Within 2 days, 2/4 of the remaining rings were deflated. At this point, I’ve definitely lost hope. Try #3 involves refilling the 2/4. This is where we’re at for ~$200. I don’t think I’ll make back the cost of these in energy savings at this point. Bummer. Save your money and use the liquid stuff… that’s what I’ll try next. ... show more

  • These work…to some extent and tips for initial use
So because a couple people asked: 9 rings for an 18’ above ground round pool. Initial blow up. Over inflate the middle. I know I know. The instructions say not to. Do it anyway. Fill the middle first. Listen I’ve done nine of these. Over fill the middle first. Then fill the outside ring. Full. But not overly firm. The whole thing should look like a taco. Trust me. Put the taco ring in the pool. Now use the cute straw they sent you to deflate the middle until the bugger lies flat. Sure you can frustratingly experiment other methods but there will be muttering wet clothes and possibly yelling if you try it any other way. As for how do they work? They help considerably for this mid forties lady who likes her pool to be a bit warmer but refuses to get a heater. And also spoils her dogs with their own pool they reluctantly share with their human. Are they utter magic to extend summer pool season in New England to November. No. But maybe mid September! ... show more

  • Expensive floating bubble wrap.
So inflating these is a bit of any art form. Too much air and they kink up, to little air and they don’t float. Also count on at least 10% of what you order will leak. And you will have to fill out forms and send pics to the manufacturer for replacement. The mfr also states you can’t store these stacked in the sunlight when they aren’t in the pool. For my 21’ round pool, I needed 14 of these! Where the heck can you store 14 5-foot circles of bubble wrap without stacking them on each other? There also seems to be something on these floats that caused my pool water to get cloudy. Once I removed them for about a week…the water cleared up. At this point it’s too late to return them. I find these a complete waste of money and I feel pretty screwed given how expensive they are. NOT RECOMMENDED. ... show more
