  • These work great for polishing agate slices!
These pads performed much better than I was expecting, polishing a rough sawn agate slice to a decent polish. The pictures are before and after. There is barely any noticeable wear on the pads after polishing the agate. There is still a hazyness after the 6000 grit but that can be polished out with a piece of leather on a pad with cerium oxide. ... show more

  • They work well
I used them on a concrete vanity top, they worked beautifully and except for being a little dirty they don't look like there is any wear at all.

  • These worked very well
I purchased these to polish one end of a large petrified wood log. I had seen them used in a video. Good product, plenty of pads in grits neccessary to make a nice polished surface. Very pleased....but I will say, make sure you press on those hook and loop pads on well, I didn't and launched one that embedded into the wall. Funny, not funny. ... show more

  • great for small jobs
I bought theses to "finish" my counter tops for our outdoor kitchen slabs and have been very happy with them, they work great and you can get a nice finish with them if you spend the time; these will NOT give you the finish you get from a stone shop but for me they have been perfect.

  • Grinding wheel
The grinding wheel of this model is too thick and hard to grind the edges.

  • High Shine, No Problem
I had no problem attaining a high shine on very hard granite. Keep in mind these are meant for edge polishing not surface polishing. You can polish a surface such as a table top but the result will be wavy due to the small diameter of the polishing pads. I posted before and after pictures to show my edges had saw marks in them. The 50 grit pad had no problem removing the saw marks. I spent some time with the 50 grit but after that it took about 2 minutes per pad to get a desirable shine. Note, it takes more time but I let the stone dry before moving to the next pad. Doing this ensures I didn't miss any spots and I can move on to the next finer grit. Having the right equipment make the job much easier. I use a Suhner meant for this exact purpose (see photo). It has a water feed that pushes water through the center of the pads. I used to use similar polishing pads in the 90’s and don’t understand why the backing pad that comes with the polishing pads didn’t have a hole in it for water feed machines. It was simple to drill a hold through the backing pad (see photo). Another issue with these pads is that the two finer grit pads are both brown. You can count on the numbers on the back of the pads to wear off so I recommend making a card that will remind you which color is a certain grit. That is blue is 50 grit, yellow is 100 grit, and so on. I highly recommend these polishing pads. If you found this review helpful, please click the ‘helpful’ button. Thanks. ... show more
