I've had dough blenders in the past but this one is different. This one the part that you smash down actually has an edge, kind of like a knife, so it cuts through the butter making the tiny little chunks you need for pie dough and whatnot. This is a good pastry cutter. It is a sturdy cutter, slightly smaller than my other one, but works great in smaller containers or bowls. Very comfortable on the hand and does it's job very well. I believe it is worth the money spent.
