I am obsessed with resistance bands, they are incredible for developing muscle! This one does exactly what I needed it to not too heavy, not too light! Well-made and versatile!

  • A Great Travel Item
This band is perfect for those of you who do some recreational resistance or weight training and also travel regularly. If you do a significant amount of muscle training at high weight or resistance, this will not offer much challenge to you. You should be aware before buying this, it is NOT a replacement for going to the gym. I wish it offered more resistance, but it doesn't. You're not going to open the package and find a magical rubber band that somehow gives you 200 pounds of resistance without you tearing your door off it's hinges. No, I'm afraid that fantasy product doesn't exist. This is a fine item for keeping you active if you get bored while watching TV. If you need something to use in a hotel room this is ideal for it's small luggage footprint as well as it's ease of use. There are a large assortment of exercises that can be done with this band with or without using a door. You can curl it by standing on it and pulling upward, shrug it, do lunges with it, do rows with it (door needed for that one) and simulate pull ups (also needing a door for this one) to a reasonable degree. You can also adjust your own resistance on some exercises that require you to stand on the band by widening your stance. It's a very logical and simple product to use. I don't recommend the purple band to those new to resistance training. There are other colors representing other weight simulations that you should probably consider, although the pricing is so cheap you can probably get a couple and work your way through them if you really wanted to do that. A WARNING: Read the directions before you use this. For example, you may be tempted to close the strap for door use into the top part of the door, this is incorrect and could damage your door. You close the strap into the door near a hinge (definitely not near the knob). While this band does not offer much resistance, I strongly suggest wearing shoes when using your feet to provide tension as having it snap back into your face would probably not be a pleasant experience. To revisit: It's not a gym replacement so don't pretend it is and then be disappointed when you buy it, that's just illogical. It's highly portable. It's highly diverse. It offers decent resistance for recreational or travel use when unable to use a gym or home exercise equipment. It could snap back dangerously if used in ways contrary to those spelled out plainly in the instructions. ... show more

  • Easy to exercise at home
Size: Light Style: No Door Attachment
SPRI bands are helping me build strength in my arms and legs. I started with the yellow band with the door anchor and now green until I'm ready for the red. I like the handles because they don't bend like others I've tried.

  • good home-gym alternative to weights
Size: Heavy Style: No Door Attachment
I just got a second one after nearly a year and a half's use out of the first--that's fairly standard for how long they last, I understand. The plug popped out through the handle as I was doing a dead-lift-style exercise, probably too much to ask of a rubber strength band, but not everyone wants a basement full of free weights. It's a really versatile tool, portable, light weight, and easy to use. Most people will probably need more than one band to get a sufficient range of tension to cover multiple exercises. The hard part is figuring out which bands to get; probably the easiest way is to try out several at a gym or physical therapy center to find out which work best for you. This one works best for me for many different exercises, and it's comparatively affordable. ... show more

  • Fitness flexible, financially sound
Size: Heavy Style: No Door Attachment
I bought this resistance tube because I wanted a workout tool that would supplement my free weight and heavy bag workouts without causing more stress on my joints. This tube has worked perfectly for that purpose and I am able to accomplish multiple types of exercises with this. I mainly bought this tube because I cancelled my gym membership as, contrary to the reason I was going, I was getting too lazy to to get to my $10/month gym on days I had preset for myself to go. I decided to instead do workouts I could do strictly at my own house. I already have a pair of dumbbells and a muay thai bag so I started using those exclusively and they're great tools to accomplish my fitness goal of being able to eat more cookies on the weekend without feeling too guilty. However, I was missing out on exercises I used to enjoy at the gym because the machines I used to use were not available to me at my house. In particular, I was missing out on the pulley machines which would give my muscles/joints a rest from having to move those "heavy" weights I was using. Enter the resistance band, a great tool to give those tired muscles/joints a rest while still providing a substantial workout for those days when I feel the need to exercise but don't feel the motivation to use the dumbbells or wander to my garage to hit my bag. I purchased the blue (heavy) band and it has provided me with the perfect amount of resistance for the workouts I use them for. I have short arms so many times I will wrap the band around my wrist and grip it lower, which is double-great because it also makes the exercise that much harder, yay! It's hard to really describe how much actual resistance you're getting and which band is good for you as, well, there's no physical number attached to how much weight it is. However, you should also know that most exercises can be tailored to your fitness level, simply by changing where you grip. Case in point, my wife has also used this same blue band for some exercises I showed her by changing where she grips and altering her stance as well. I am a big believer in resistance band training and love the flexibility it gives you when it comes to the types of exercises you can. Your imagination is truly your only obstacle and if your imagination is not quite as active then there are also tons of helpful sites you can visit to find the perfect workouts for what you are trying to accomplish. I have had no problems with this band and it feels sturdy enough to last for a while. Time will tell and if it decides to snap or fail on me then my review will be updated to document its shortcomings. ... show more
