  • Nice, happy with the power tower
Color: Multi
So far, 5 stars but I just reeceived and assembled it. I took my time with assembly, but the company must be paying attention to feedback. (Purchased the multi, Feb 2025). I had an instruction booklet (that wasn't 100% helpful because the pictures were fuzzy), the small bits and bobs were well packaged and labeled- numbers were embossed in the plastic, they didn't use the screw name though, they used their own numbering system, came with all tools needed except for a knife to open the plastic, and it came with no missing parts. Best of all, the instructional video that is part of one of the product pictures really helped. I can do half a pull up with the assist but maybe by the end of week I will be able to do a full one. My ceilings are really low so the adjustable handlebar is awesome. I have it at the lowest setting. Since no one here is tall, this is fine, not sure if tall people who can do real pullups would have difficulty. Can't do dips or the leg lift thingies yet, the arm rests are tilted in which seems like it could help once I finally get to that stage. Everything seems very sturdy. I got on a lightning deal but there is a $100 off coupon that I think makes this purchase a really great addition to my home workout area. ... show more

  • Function vs Quality
Color: Multi
The media could not be loaded. I purchased and received the assist version of SportsRoyals power tower on Dec 16, 2023. I’m am writing this review 2 weeks after I assembled and started using it. Before purchase I had read most of the recent and top rated reviews and found them very insightful. But, I also noticed opinions varied based on expectation, fitness routine and stature. so, this is my 6 foot 225 pound moderately active opinion. The shipping box looked smaller than expected and weighted 86 pounds. The contents were tightly and securely packed. There is no user guide, and what many people have reported as terrible assembly instructions is really an exploded view of components. So, it helps with assembly but not well. I struggled until I realized the manufacture put an assembly video on Amazon. Short and not perfect but, using it in conjunction with the so-called assembly instructions, it was understandable. From the time I moved the shipping box into the house, assembled and cleaned up afterwards 4 hours had passed. I took my time, made no mistakes and used every part and fastener supplied. I’d call success. When looking at pictures that some reviewers have submitted, I noticed equipment structure was not always of the same design. Those reporting the most shake or flex where made with round tubular steel frames. Strong but hard to attach support arms to. The one pictured and I received was made with squared tubular steel and has an “H” style base. Not the triangular base some pictures show. Guessing the manufacture has recently re-designed the tower to address stability (Shake and Flex). The Amazon site says the tower supports 440 pounds, however, the so-called assembly instruction states 330 pounds. Could it be the result of the re-design? I can confirm that the top pull-up bar connection does creak under my weight as reported, but it doesn’t bother me or seem excessive or dangerous. I included a video. Notice there is minimal flexing. A result of the squared tubular steel I suspect. The steel is thinner than I expected which became noticeable during assembly. Do not tighten the bolts beyond tightly snug or the tubular steel will start to buckle-in. To be fair I have a tendency to over torque everything. I compared this tower with the commercial brand Hoist. There is no comparison in quality. The Hoist is many times stronger but also many times more expensive. Actually 4 times more with no assist. The questions is, when is strong, strong enough. The SportRoyal would never hold up in a commercial fitness center. But probably good enough for my home gym. I needed the pull-up assist to get my muscles started, and it functions as others have said. Not the smoothest movement but, it does what it’s meant to do. However, the seat is completely and totally in the wrong position for assisted dips. Online specifications say each of the 4 assist bands is 22 Lbs, 88 total. I tested this by placing two 45 pound weight lifting plates on the seat. This 90 pounds lowered the seat 75% of the way down. Removing 1 plate, 45 Lbs, raised the seat 75% of the way back up. So, I would call this spec accurate and not bad for functioning with bungees. Prior to purchase I could not figure out how the assist seat converted to a back support. So, I included the change-over in the video. Easy to do after a couple of tries. The manufacturer must have been concerned that the pulleys on the assisted seat bungee system would bottom out and get damaged. So, they included what they’re calling an anti-crash support. A rod that stick up from the H base frame. I included it in the video. Easy to remove or install but very dangerous. If you forget to remove it and you lose grip when the seat is in the backrest position, you could impaled yourself. In conclusion: The manufacturer designed a functional and well thought out power tower that gives me the exercises I wanted, accept for assisted dips. The build quality is consistent with what I expected for home equipment. The relatively low cost and light weight allowed me to try, lift and afford the purchase. I don’t expect the assist bungee system to last forever, but, it should last long enough until I don’t need it anymore. There are no other low cost towers with assist that I could find. Yes the top pull-up bar can be set at several heights but don’t expect it to be a regular adjustment, it’s too difficult for that. Also, the assisted seat travel length is fixed which makes the pull-up bar height dependent on it. All-in-all I would purchase this power tower again. ... show more

  • Reasonable home use power tower
Color: Black-01
TL;DR - For around 2 bills it's a reasonable choice, built to support people who are a bit taller with boarder shoulders. First of all... if you're debating buying a power tower, just go ahead and do it. I waited longer than I should have and now I've got some serious catching up to do on anything but push ups, sit ups, and body weight squats with gyms being closed. I looked into building something in my back yard, but with the cost of steel pipe, fittings, and 4x4's it's a bit cheaper to just buy something. This met my requirements, as something that could support my 6'3", 200lb build. Assembly was easy for me, about 30-40 minutes, with having put together my share of home and home office furniture over the years. The only snag I ran into was the machining was a bit off on two of the bolt holes. Instead of sliding through the oversized hole, I had to force the bolts through by threading them through... if it had been further off it would have likely stripped them. The manual was fine, pretty easy to follow if you've put anything similar together before. The unit was nicely packaged, and included all the nuts/bolts/wrench/allen wrenches that were needed to assemble it. No damage, and good packaging overall. For someone my size, carrying the package up a flight of stairs wasn't a big deal, but if you're on the smaller side it may need easier to team lift or unpack it and take in a part at a time. Stability is good, for a lighter weight unit. You can tip it up or to the side easily if you don't have any weight on it, but when actually using it, it feels plenty stable. While it's nothing like the really solid units you'd use at most commercial gyms, I didn't have any concern when doing exercises with decent control and form. For chin ups/pull ups, I'm not overly fond of how thin and lightweight the bar feels; I'd rather it be about 50% thicker (but wrapping it could fix this) and be heavier/made of thicker metal... it works fine, it just feels lighter weight which doesn't inspire the most confidence in it. If you're wildly swinging around crossfit style I don't think it would work well, but otherwise it's plenty stable enough. I have the unit adjusted to the lowest setting, which means at my height I need to tuck my feet under a bit when doing pulls. No issue there, I needed something that fit well in a room with an 8' ceiling and it doesn't impact the quality of the exercise. For dips, same critique on the dip handles as with pull/chin up bar... thicker and a bit sturdier feeling would be nice. The width between handles works well for me, however for someone with a narrower torso/shoulders, it may be a bit far apart your liking. With the can't on the supports, you couldn't reverse them if you wanted to do so take that into consideration. For leg lifts, the pads are designed for people with really short arms... if you grip the vertical handles and you have arms my length, your elbows are completely off the pads which is not a comfortable position. For me this isn't an issue, I found with the inward incline of the pads I can just skip gripping the handles and do the exercise just fine. If you're fairly thick and need to have the back rest all the way back, your legs will hit the lower crossbar. I don't see this being an issue for many people but it would drive me nuts if I needed it in that position. At The push up handles are just a freebie... may as well have them there with the length of the frame in case you want them. Same thing as the dip handles, they may be a fit far apart for people with narrower shoulders, but I liked the position myself. If you want to use this for band work outside of assisted dips/chins/pull ups, this wouldn't be a good choice; it's too light. If you want something your fit grand kids will fight over from your estate, this is not it, invest in an commercial gym unit made of real steel, not this stuff, and expect to pay 3-4 times the price. If you want a reasonable choice that ticks most of the boxes for a home gym, this should work for you. ... show more

  • Good quality construction
Color: Black-02
This was the tallest pull up bar I could find on amazon. Im 6ft 3in and wanted one I could get a full stretch on. I got it maxed out on height but I still have to pick my legs up when using. It took me about a hour to assemble. It is very sturdy and can handle my 200lbs no problem. It doesnt take up much space in the corner of my room. Doing dips, leg raises and pushups are a nice addition. It is made solid with no worries about rocking or tipping. I do recomend this device just wish I could get another 6 inches of height out of it. ... show more
