Used this bit for cutting long mortises in breadboards for a table I'm building. Used with a power router lift, it made the onerous process less so. No issues with cut quality or sharpness. Seems like a good value and I'll probably pick up another as a spare as I can't find anything similar locally.

With the bit just spinning in the router not cutting anything, it exploded just like the other review on here. Brand new, shank all the way down, collet blown out with compressed air before putting it is, high end router right virtually zero run out. Usually it seems like a lot of reviews with bits breaking prematurely sound like a degree of user error. I don’t know how user error could have played any part here. I think this is legitimately, 100% a defective product and super dangerous. Put your face shield on before you even try and spin the bit if you still buy it. ... show more

I got this bit mainly for making dados in hardwood (mostly red oak) and it started out extremely well. Cuts are very clean with nearly no tear-out. However, the blue coating started to disappear from the cutting edge after just the first couple cuts. While the cuts are still mostly clean after a few hundred feet of boards, it's not as fast to use as it was. Still a great value, and probably overkill for simple dados. This would be better suited for it's advertised use in a CNC. ... show more
