This product is a powerful oxygen-based oxidizer. When used regularly, it will eliminate organic contaminants and keep spa water crystal clear. This product will not raise chlorine levels or produce combined chlorine or chloramines which can cause chlorine odor and eye irritation. 1. After every use, add 2 ounces of this product per 500 gallons of water. 2. Run the pump for at least 30 minutes. 3. Turn the jets on and off once or twice after adding this product to improve the treatment.

I have been purchasing this shock for my hot tub for years. I just add 2 tablespoons across the surface after we get out and leave the jets on for 30 minutes. Then I add a teaspoon of powdered chlorine into the skimmer (per my manufacturer recommendations) and the hot tub is always clean and fresh the next day. I used to add 3 or 4 tbsp of shock but it was too much (too much shock odor) and now the 2 tablespoons seems perfect. I just keep buying more as needed. Love it. ... show more

This product works great. If you weigh the bottle you will see that it does weigh out over 2lb. The bottle is half-full to prevent spills..and make pouring easier. The cap is not made to be excessively tight because the product naturally degrades over time releasing oxygen. If the cap was tight..the bottle might bulge and puff...throwing product everywhere when opened. Store at room temperature. If you store this outside in the summer...you might as well throw it away in the winter because it will probably be less than half strength. No offense to others..but if you cannot portion out 2 oz. for your application..you really should not be messing with pool chemicals. ... show more
