Nice piece of furniture. Love the height. The “veneer” is pretty much paper thin and scratches down to the compressed wood pulp with the slightest of scratches. A couple of scratches happened during shipment and one was made mistakenly by me. Edit: I raised my score from 1 to 3 stars because their customer service is exceptional. They made replacing the scratched/damaged/missing pieces extremely easy. Please remember to order replacement parts before assembly. Unfortunately I didn’t think about it and nailed the back board already! I wish their furniture would have a more scratch resistant surface so that I would rate closer to 5. 2nd edit: received my replacement parts, which are actually better then original parts. The original part had the faux wood wrap on one side only. The replacement parts were wrapped on both sides. Switching parts out was very easy and quick. Best customer service! Raised to 4 stars hoping these replacement parts don’t scratch as easy. ... show more

The boxes showed up absolutely mangled which scared me at first but everything inside was fine. Just as the other reviews have stated, it is a doozy to put together. Not necessarily hard but very time consuming. They shorted me one piece of the correct hardware, instead I got some random piece that was either broken or intended for a different type of furniture, which delayed the process. We had to makeshift a piece to put in the slot that supports the top. Yes we were an hour+ into the building process and determined to finish at any cost. With all that said, I can’t be mad at it. It turned out very nice in our room and unexpectedly quite solid even with our weird hardware. I really really like it! Ps pay attention to your drawer locations or everything will be janky ... show more

This was delivered quickly and was packed in such a way that even though there was damage to the exterior of the box, the pieces inside were without a scratch. The box is quite heavy!!! It was straightforward and fairly easy to assemble for those who have assembled any type of furniture similar to this. Directions always leave a bit to be desired with little to no words and pictures that are sometimes unclear. Assembled it by myself in about 30 minutes and it is very sturdy. Overall, love our new dresser. It is beautiful. The labeling was pretty good. Assembly not too shabby...UNTIL you get to assembling the last drawer and realize you are missing the last cam screw and have to jerry rig a random piece to hold it together. Not ideal but it works. Okay, the look is unbeatable. Very cute! Match our rustic weatherized bed frame so well. The installation might be a hard part so I hired a amazon contractor to do it. It took him 3 hrs so I think it was a good call for paying instead of doing it myself. I’m a bit surprised and disappointed that even the front is not real wood board. (Well, we all know the inside and the back is definitely not for this price.) Comparing to my $200 ikea, which has at least a real wood front, I feel it is not a very good price-quality choice. It was my fault that I didn’t read carefully before I bought it. The only thing really bothers me is the smell. Very strong chemical smell. I am not sure if it is safe for the family to sleep in the bedroom with it, especially with a baby. To make sure it won’t affect my baby’s health, it took us a lot of energy to move it to the living room ( yea it is not real wood but really really heavy...) I think it will stay in the living room for quite a while, which is very inconvenient for us...cuz it is blocking the way and also we cannot use it until it is a bit more clearer from the smell. If you are sensitive to smells like I do, I would suggest you skip this. Or, prepare to give it a bit time outside before you assemble it. update: south shore staff replied me that the smell is normal and safe which makes me feel better. I will still leave it in living room until the smell wear off but at least I know it won’t get us sick. Again, for the look I think the price is kind of fair. I won’t worry this much if I don’t have a baby so I changed it to 4 stars ... show more

I purchased this along with the matching single dresser and two night stands. I think they look great. They aren't hard to assemble at all. The drawers open and close very smoothly. If you want affordable furniture that looks good, then I think these would be tough to beat. I only gave it a 4, because I'm not crazy about the cardboard back. I know it reduces weight and price, but I question how long it will last. ... show more

Dresser came in two boxes that are heavy and awkward to carry by yourself but can be done. Everything arrived in excellent condition. No parts were missing. The assembly took more than two hours flying solo. Drawers are for a particular side so it will look off in the left side when it's meant for the right side FYI. I can't remember if the directions are clear about that or not. It's not the most sturdy, but it's not solid wood. It comes with a safety anchor if like that stuff. ... show more
