I bought this table because my Laptop overheats because the exhaust Vents are too close to the surface where I use it, like on a table, my lap, or even my bed mattress. HP, the manufacturer solution was to use a raised table like this one without fans. They said fans could overpower the laptop internal fan and damage it and make it inoperative thereby causing damage to the motherboard and internal semiconductors. So this design was perfect except for one issue. The table bars that hold the laptop do not restrain the laptop from tipping over when the monitor is raised on my 15.6 inch HP Laptop. My solution. I removed the flat rubber molding and applied three square 1-1/2 inch pieces on both rails and to the laptop so the laptop would not Tim over off the stand. You should apply more Velcro than that or it could damage the laptop plastic when removing the laptop from the table. It only takes a few minutes to apply. Old Navy Engineering solution for laptops on Navy Ships done for past 2 decades. As a retired engineer, we made these support tables and bolted the bottom to a shipboard computer desk and applied Velcro to the top rails and bottom of the Laptop. Same was done on our Hydrgraphic Lauches that are similar to small boats and yachts. This solution will not work on a a commercial plane or commercial train table top. For this application, I recommend large rubber feet on the four bottom corners of the laptops with bottom vent. Raising it up by one inch usually works great on 4 hour flights with no overheating problems. Bottom Line I recommend this product for its intended purpose. ... show more

It’s such a simple design and a simple product…But it’s practically perfect. My laptop stays pretty quiet now that airflow can help keep the bottom cooler than it would be just sitting on my desk. I can have lots of programs running at the same time and the fan will rarely kick on. Putting it together was super easy. The entire thing is pretty sturdy too. I have yet to get a wireless keyboard though so I’m stuck using my laptop keyboard. I can comfortably type without it wiggling back and forth. I feel like it won’t be easy to knock the stand over either. It’s great! I feel the price is pretty fair, too, for the quality of the product that is being offered. :•) ... show more

I needed a decent stand to use at work so that I could utilize my laptop as a third monitor. This works perfectly for that. It holds the laptop steady, there is no bounce to it, and it looks nice on my desk. It was also very easy to put together, took me under 5 minutes to set it up.

The stand if very well made, it has some weight to it which is good. Putting it together is also easy, simply connecting the pieces together without the need of any screws. I had used this stand one day when I was working at my daughter-in-law's work station in their home. I liked it so much I ordered my own as soon as I got home. I have experienced a lot of neck strain with my home set-up. Getting my laptop up off the desktop (wood, not digital!) has been a great start at solving that issue. I also like that my desk doesn't feel as cluttered as when the laptop sat directly on it. The instructions that came with it were clear, even for a non-handyman, and I had it put together in no time.
