It’s designed for 19“ rack mountable equipment and offers 12U of space. With two vented side panels, the case promotes maximum ventilation and helps keep your devices cool. Made of steel, the rugged rack withstands heavy use. Better yet, the 3-inch casters on the bottom make it easy to move around even when it is fully loaded; when needed, the casters securely lock to keep the rack stationary. With black powder coated finish, the Sound Town STRK-M12U rack protects your gear and looks great. Well, I'm impressed. After the couple of poor reviews here I was a tad worried. All I relate to here is MY experience. So............... The rack was extremely WELL PACKAGED in really DURABLE cardboard, and very well reinforced. The instructions for assembly were simple and easy. Everything was labeled, but it really was more info than was likely needed. Every single screw to assemble the unit went in appropriately as threaded. (The one front rack panel I've put in as well.) There are a lot of screws... didn't count to see if there are enough to do all the rack spaces.... but it looks like it. The wheels roll nicely, and they lock too. Overall the "feel" of the rack unit is solid and professional. It'd fit in any studio and not be out of place. The only issue I had was with the SHIPPING company... and it was UPS losing it in transit and the arrival delayed by a few days. Annoying... but not the selling company's fault. ... show more

all is greatly, a very sturdy piece of kit! would recommend for in house and NOT touring. only issue is “not standard rack screws” that would normally be suppued , say with audio gear (audio compression/mic pre, audio interface etc…) so if using to place existing gear, then you might need to change all the screws (not enough supplied with racks) would give 5 star if it had used standard size screws or included actual screw type/dimensions ... show more

This rack is a substantial value for the money. I expected a cheap, poorly constructed stop-gap solution, but what I got is a solid, well-built rack with heavy duty casters that has become a permanent solution. Everything fit together nicely, with tight tolerances and accurate measurements. The space went from a cluttered mess to a neat and tidy sound nook. And the fact that I can wheel it out means I don't have to fiddle around in the dark feeling for connections. I'll probably buy a couple more of these down the line. ... show more

I bought two of these racks to use for a audio desk I built. They went together fast, look sleek and are incredibly sturdy! I love that they have locking wheels and great airflow for some of my hotter gear! If you're on the fence, make the jump. I promise you won't regret buying these. I can't really point out any negatives with them. I've read some reviews stating get some carbon steel M5 screws for installing your gear. I used the included rack screws in BOTH units packed and didn't have any issues with how well they grab or hold up. Stellar design, assembly, looks, and toughness! ... show more

If you're going to have a rack and you're gonna label all your parts at least label the bag that the screws come in, there were 2 separate bags neither had markings on them. all the screws looked identical. In the directions they call for 2 different sized screws. 10-32 and 12-32. Weird right? All audio equipment racks are generally 10-32. Some of the screws would barely go in, I had to really force them. The powder coating I believe caused all the issues with the rack rails screw holes, along with tons of burs in them. I complained to the company and they are giving me a credit for the trouble as I have to bore out all the holes now with a Tap&Die set I just purchased. ... show more

Sturdy rack. Approximately 20% of the screw holes were not properly tapped and those screws would only go in half way. I can fix this but most people probably can't. Typical Chinese crap.Additionally, one of the locking casters will not lock. Other than that, it will work for what I need and it's way less expensive than most road cases. ... show more
