The media could not be loaded. We have a couple of house cats and one solid black totally feral and very shy cat living in our woods who adopted us (free meals on the porch). We named him Felix the Cat based on the old cartoon character. I could not resist this cat clock when I saw it – had one when I was a kid and have had a secret wish to have one for decades. It is made from plastic and requires 2 C batteries (included). The batteries have a plastic wrapping to prevent shipping/warehousing discharge – remove it. Between the batteries is a time setting dial. To hang the tail properly (it is separate), the smooth side faces the wall – it has a hook which slips onto the pendulum arm inside the clock. The eyes and tail move (see video). I assume one battery is for the moving parts and the other is for the clock. I set the clock and we have run it for around 4 days and it has kept good time. It has a second hand. For a real test of time accuracy, I will monitor it for 3-4 months. If a developing inaccuracy results, I will update this review – assume no news is good news. PS: I used a simple pushpin (the kind with a plastic finger-grip) to mount it on the wall – the grip fit perfectly into the mounting hole on the back. Make sure it hangs vertically so that the tail does not contact the lower edge of the clock. The clock is exactly as advertised and that is important. ... show more

Clock is easy to set and hang. Daughter approves of it. It's a bit on the heavy side to use double-sided tape long-term (a bit over a pound, with 4-5oz coming from the batteries), but it has a flat back; you could probably get away with it using at least two strips; a screw in stud would be ideal. It does come with a wall anchor and screw. I'll try to remember to update review when the included batteries give out. I'll work on getting a general PCB designed to run 1.5V and 3V lines from a LiPo pouch (I don't think I can post the design here if I do, but I'll try); I don't keep C-sized alkalines around (and they're over $8 for 4 atm). It's a good product; I'm just weird about batteries. ... show more

This was chosen for a cat-loving son who just got his first place. Perfect kitchen wall clock adding a touch of whimsy to his space. It is just like you remember seeing in your grandmother's house - the tail goes back and forth along with the eyes. So far, it is keeping good time, was easy to install the batteries and set the time. If I had one thing I could change, I would probably choose to have it be plug-in so I didn't have to worry about batteries, but many kitchen clocks are battery operated because of a lack of outlets where you might put a clock. I have always wanted this kind of clock since I was a child and saw it on the Honey I shrunk the kids movie, and I remembered it when I saw again it on Stranger Things more recently. I am much more of a dog person than a cat person, so I tried finding it for my sister who is a "crazy cat lady", but the original replica of the kit-cat clock is closer to $100. So I was thrilled to find this generic version at a fraction of the cost! My sister was so excited to receive this clock from us, and said she's always wanted one too! It's super cute and super easy to setup. The eyes and tail move which is the main feature of the original clock that most people are intrigued by.
