If you want to start campfires or fireplace fires without having to use kindling, this works great. I bought two, one for in the house and one for outside. They don't self ignite perfectly (one is better than the other), but they are WAY better at self igniting than a bernz-o-matic torch, and will almost always start without help (after a few tries) unless it's very cold outside. Once lit, they make an enormous amount of heat and I can typically get a fire burning on its own in less than 90 seconds, a little faster if the wood is super dry. I haven't tried it on green wood, never had the need. Would have given 5 stars if the self ignition was 100% reliable. ... show more

It is what it says it is. Arrived quickly and looks very sturdy. I was impressed with the quality of the product and the packaging. It is also pretty easy to use, screwed right on to one of my green propane tanks. The only reason I would dock it a 1/2 point is I had to use a lighter to get it going the first time as it would not ignite on its own.     • Texas Deer Ranch campfire/bbq pit propane torch.

Purchased the propane torch to utilize at the Deer ranch in South Texas. Mostly would be utilized to start the BBQ pit and a small enclosed pit we utilize to burn logs of wood and some trash. I had to get used to how to start the propane torch by utilizing the adjustable knob on a lower setting before turning up the torch. Once lit it worked pretty well yet had to work with the adjustable knob and throttle to control the amount of fire the torch was throwing. Sometimes the propane torch would variate on the amount of fire being thrown yet not too bad. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase and feel it will serve it's purpose. ... show more
