  • Works Great!!!
Style: Torch Head
You can use this for melting jewelry, soldering larger items, baking, searing and many more things! I don't use it much because you have to connect it to the Gas but it's a nice tool to have just in case I want to! Works really well and would buy from this company again!

  • works perfectly thus far
Style: Torch Head
This BernzOmatic torch head works like my old one did for many years before it ultimately failed. It appears to be just as well made as the old one.

  • Mostly does the job
Style: Torch Head
Yes it works well, but I have a complaint. It's quite difficult to light with a lighter. You have to adjust the pressure (on the BernzOmatic) to miniscule, else it won't light. And you have to sort of play with the miniscule pressure while lighting, else it won't light or goes right out. There is a trick to it. You have to finesse it a bit. It seems like they could improve the lighting experience so you don't have to resort to voodoo magic to get it lit. Once lit it works great. ... show more

  • Made of Brass - This is the third one of have bought in my life - They last a long time.
Style: Torch Head
Even the good things wear out. This is simply the best type to propane torch to buy and at a good price. I have watched other people struggle with the other types of torches, especially the ones with the lighter combination. I use my Acetylene cutting torch spark lighter and keep on going with this product. If you admire good old fashioned quality products that wear like iron, then this is what you want. I think using only three of these over a 50 year period says it all. ... show more

  • Works perfectly, even when extremely tilted.
Style: Torch Head
The media could not be loaded. This review is of BernzOmatic Model UL2317 Brass Pencil Flame Torch Head. Works perfectly. Lights easily, stays lit, allows tilt angle of at least 135° even though the instructions and packaging note that it’s for “upright” use. See video. In the video I used a 16 oz propane container, about 1/3 full and at 50°F. It is entirely plausible that your performance while tilted may vary if your canister has a different fullness or is at a different temperature. I do remember my previous torch (I’m sure it was a BernzOmatic, might have been this exact model) under certain conditions surging when tilted, by which I mean a large increase in flame. I don’t remember it ever going out due to tilting. It’s been many years, but if I had to guess I’d say it was most pronounced when the temperature was colder and the canister less full. I learned a long time ago that lighting a torch with a match is easiest if you open the valve as little as possible, and if it’s really cold, heat the tip with the match for a bit before you open the valve. I did not preheat the tip for this test. ... show more

  • Impossible to use.
Style: Torch Head
The miniscule flame (which can barely heat a ring to soldering temperature) will not stay lit. After multiple attempts to use this so-called, with each attempt requiring 20+ re-lights, I am left with no torch, just a piece of crappy brass which only heat itself to a temperature which makes it uncomfortable to hold. Useless junk. Garbage. An embarassment to whoever built this thing. Take the money you are considering spending on this, throw it in the trash, and yourself the wasted effort of sending away for this shiny disappointment. ... show more

  • It has a tiny flame. Was too small for annealing brass.
Style: Torch Head
I'm not sure if I received a dud or it's just how it's made. I used it for brass annealing on an Ugly Annealer. The tip of the flame is too far away from the brass to work like it should. It's maybe an inch long. It was fine in the shop in warm weather even though it didn't touch the brass. When it became cold out it didn't work well. It's an unheated shop. ... show more
