We have a lot of deer in our neighborhood and even an occasional bear, as well as other wildlife. This motion sensor alarm is great at scaring them away. I like the mean dog bark with the gunshots! I'm glad that the volume is adjustable so it won't wake the neighbors. I set it on medium volume so I can't hear it in the house with the windows closed but is definitely loud enough outside to scare the wildlife away from our garden. I bought 3. Two work perfectly. the 3rd just died. tried to charge it to no avail. But they stepped up and sent me a replacement. I am changing my review from 3 stars to 5. Sometimes stuff breaks.Company sent me a replacement and it got here the next day. really impressed with their follow through and speed. I put it on its charging chord and it will hold a charge, but the solar panel must have failed. It is loud and annoying and I love it. My neighbors dog barks at me whenever i come home, Reggie has been doing this for 6 years. I put them allong the property line and when ever reggie comes out he gets a taste of his own medicine. ... show more

Sometimes this thing just goes off like crazy and I just turn it off during the day. I turn it on at night. I always test it though. It’s always set to the maximum loudness but I cannot hear it from inside my house. I like that it’s there at night.

I liked that this was easy to use. We had beavers take down 30+ trees on our property. I could wrap them with wire quick enough! This alarm scared them away for quite awhile. Just warn your neighbors so they don't think you're shooting wildly at night!

I really liked this product last year since we had a bear break into our cabin. I like the fact that you could do your own recording. However, this year it will not work, it won’t charge, so not worth the price if you can only use it for one year.

    • Works on most animals
It has gunshot sounds and screams.. not something I want in my backyard with neighbors and the edge of the park. It is programmable. I make a pretty good cougar sound and the recording is darn loud. It has been out in all kinds of weather .. thought it would have drown by now but held up well. The racoons don't like it. Even beat it up a bit before they run off. Had to turn it down a bit now that it's warmer.. it is loud. I hear it at night and look out the window to see what is moving around my back yard. Will warn of people who don't belong there as well. ... show more

    • Doesn't work quite as advertised
First off, as others have reported the prerecorded sound is a very loud gun shot followed by barking dogs. It will scare you even when you know what it is. There is only the one prerecorded sound. You can add your own recording via the built-in microphone. Then you can choose which of the recordings to use when it detects motion. We recorded dogs barking from a sound bite we played on our computer, which was much quieter than the very loud prerecorded gunshot and dogs. I'm sure our neighbors appreciate it! So now we set it up in our front yard and successfully tested it. A day later it was breezey out and all night long we could it going off as the plants moving in the wind triggered it. Well at least it wasn't terribly loud. A couple of days later, I triggered it as I walked by and instead of my recording, it played the loud gunshot and dogs. I just about cr@pp3d myself. It immediately switched back to my recording on the next trigger. So the negatives are that it triggers easy and occasionally plays the default recording. The pluses are that it stays charged via the built in solar panel and that it seems to be keeping the deer out of our yard. An occasional loud gunshot is the price I have to pay! ... show more

I got this to keep the bear away from my trash enclosure. I recorded the first 30 seconds Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" and so far it scares them away pretty quickly. The only downside is that you can't order extra remotes if I want to leave one in my car to change it to 24 hr mode when I'm out during the day. ... show more
