    • Everything separate but connected
Having two separate lights, that are also separate from the solar panel is so convenient (even more convenient than I thought it would be). I wanted to use these for a shed that doesn't have electricity to it thinking that I would use one light at the front door and one light inside, when I went to put them up I realized that the area around the front door is shaded most of the day. This setup allowed me to install the panel on the roof and I could still charge both separate lights and use them as I need them. I installed these for emergency use. I am very happy with these lights. They are bright, the remote works well, the quality build seems very good. I just hope they last a long time.

    • Works as advertised and brightens up our driveway!
I’m blessed to live next door to my mom, our houses are about 100 feet apart, but in the evenings walking back and forth can be a bit of a challenge because there isn’t any light. There are several large trees that provide a lot of cover and a small path winds between the yards. So it’s great for my kids and my mom, but in the evenings it is easy to stumble if you’re not paying attention. Adding these lights have been a perfect way to light the path. The connection from solar panel to lights is long enough to find a sunny spot, while I have the lights mounted in the shadier spots. The lights themselves are surprisingly bright. The included remote is also nice for turning the path lights on and off when the kiddos are gcoming or going between grandma’s house. The build quality is ok, though the mounting brackets feel a bit flimsy, we’ll see how well they hold up long term. There also was a little moisture inside one of the fixtures, so I am not certain how well they are sealed despite the water proof rating. I am impressed with the construction of this light set. The fixtures are made of Aluminum. Not sure if they are painted or anodized. If I had to guess by looking at them I would say painted. They look very similar to the larger commercial anodized lights that I used to sell for a living, except on a miniature scale. The solar panel is well built. It is similar to, but smaller than one I had for camping a few years ago. There are 2 each 10 ft. cables coming out of the panel with connectors for hooking up the two light fixtures. In my application I plan to put the solar panel on top of one of my patio covers and mount the two lights under the cover. They will be mounted approximately 1/3rd in from the edge on both sides. I have not done the installation yet due to continuing rain and winds. I charged the panels by setting the fixtures and solar panel on top of my spa cover for a couple of days. It was raining off and on both of these days, but the fixtures still ended up with a good charge. I am not sure if they are somewhat pre-charged at the factory or not. These little fixtures are very bright! I took some pictures with them in my garage; first with no lights on, then with one light on, then with both lights on. It’s hard to do them justice as I believe my camera did some light compensation. But it should give you an idea. The remote controls both fixtures in tandem, not separately. If the fixtures were mounted in completely different areas, then it can be used to control them individually. I like the fact that I can increase or decrease the light levels in steps, or I can select a quick button for 50% or 100% light level. There is also the ability to set an amount of time the fixture will stay on and then turn itself off. The choices are 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 hours. I should point out that there is no motion feature but there is a dusk to dawn feature on these fixtures. It was hard for me to find a fixture that I did not have to incorporate a dusk to dawn or motion fixture. This is exactly what I wanted for my application. Speaking of hours, after doing my initial tests I decided to turn both lights on at full power to see how long they would last. After being on for 12 hours and still extremely bright, I decided that was long enough for my test. I had the solar panel disconnected during this test. You can do power on/ off, dusk to dawn or preset timer all from the remote, there is also a charge indicator on the remote.
