We wanted solar lights for Christmas to avoid running extension cords everywhere. These are great for accomplishing that. However, we are having a less sunny than usual 'winter' for South Texas and while these look great on sunnier days, most of the time they are not very bright and don't last long after sunset. A plus is they are great for portable decorating. These lights are small, about the diameter of a dime. Colors are not really as pictured. No pink or purple, just red green blue and orangey yellowy. But they are pretty and bright. I've bought three different strings of lights on Amazon in the past few years. This one has a battery that lasts the longest at nite and shines the brightest. Even in deep winter, if the battery got a good daily charge the lights would stay on for close to 12 hours. And that is a northern Wyoming night which is pretty long. I like the length of the lights. They are small but they have presence. Unfortunately about a foot of one strand didn't light up at all. Within two 2 weeks that strand stopped working.
