The most enticing feature of the snoo bear to me was that it was reactive, like the snoo, to baby’s sounds. Not only do I have to go start the machine whenever I hear baby crying but it doesn’t ever level up as it advertised. Very disappointing. We were looking for a white noise machine with the same sounds as the snoo sleeper for when baby gets too big and we need to transition. It confuses me slightly that they don’t seem to sell a transitional white noise machine that has the exact same audio sooth ramping behavior as the snoo, just without the rocking motions. Really like the idea of a lovey that can provide comfort through multiple stages as they grow so we picked this one over the alternatives, but also you can’t necessarily plan what they’ll bond with so we’ll see on that front. Was initially worried the timer wouldn’t be long enough since the snoo is always making noise, but in practice it seems to strike a good transitional balance by soothing baby asleep then shutting off and reengaging only if baby has a particularly rough active sleep cycle or cries awake. The new sounds included on top of the snoo tracks are hit and miss, the low rumbling train rolling is quite soothing to baby (me too) and I honestly wish it was the default on the snoo, but the two shush noises are quite harsh through the somewhat tinny speaker and I can’t imagine using them. It would be nice to be able to record a parents voice or other custom sound as one of the track options since there must be a microphone in there to detect baby anyways. Overall a pretty nice baby white noise machine with just the right volume for gentle soothing or blocking out some light background noise. Hopefully the sounds ease the future transition out of snoo, and we’ve already noticed it soothe baby when using it while out of the house as it is a great portable travel option. The stuffy is a bit more mixed. I like the strap that hides nicely as a collar and that you can use to attach it to a car seat, stroller, or baby carrier. The little puppet arms are fun and engaging for baby. On the downside, the material feels kinda like carpet and isn’t very soft, baby doesn’t seem to mind terribly much though as they love to explore any texture right now. The sound box understandably is quite big but because of the proportions of the animal 80% of the stuffing and snugglyness is in the oversized head, leaving the body to be mostly the hard plastic sound box. I also wish the eyes and face were bigger or more contrasting to make it pop out more to baby. These are complaints from the adult so maybe it’s fine for baby when they are old enough to play with it themselves. Worst case you could always put the sound box into a different stuffy or use it independently, since it is completely removable. ... show more

Purchased the Snoobear for my nephew on the nights I’m on auntie duty and I am incredibly happy I did! This helps with car rides over (which he hates) and he’s out in minutes. I love the selection of sounds and apparently so does he. I would absolutely recommend.

I think because I have the snoo, and that thing is like a Rolls Royce - beautifully designed and works perfectly - I just expected more from a Happiest Baby product. The bear just isn’t super soft and it kind of sheds. The cry activation doesn’t really work too well - baby has to be shrieking for it to work. Again - the snoo was so receptive to noises, we got used to relying on it. Also it only plays the white noise for a couple of hours I think. My baby is used to having the noise of the snoo all night long. Overall I’m just bummed and wish I had gotten the snoobie instead ... show more

If you’ve used the Shusher, which lasts for 30 minutes, having a 60 minute sound machine is a step up. After that point, it’s a step down from the advertised product. We have twins and there is no shortage of crying sessions to activate this thing to respond after being turned on, but it just doesn’t work. For the price, I wish it had Bluetooth so I could use the app to turn it on myself the way you can with the SNOO bassinet. I think the failings are one reason it currently costs $20 less on the Happiest Baby website. It has poor reviews there as well. I think it could be a hit with a few modifications like Bluetooth controls and a more attractive bear or to simply offer an effective noise box with no bear. ... show more
