Easy to assemble, looks and feels solid. The handles are comfortable and I like how even and balanced it feels while working out. My only nit is that I wish the 1.25 lbs magnetic pucks were smaller because they stick out. Otherwise I don’t regret the purchase.

    • Sturdy, smart interlock system, can be improved

The interlocking mechanism of the plates is ingenious and fool proof. There are no plastic parts between the weight plates (they are tightly packed with each other), which means there is nothing that can break in case of a fall or setting them down not perfectly parallel to the floor (as it might happen with other brands.) The weight is increased by adding plates from the center to the outside, so there are no single "hanging" plates in the middle (i.e. between the lowest and the highest setting): the weight is always uniformly distributed along the dumbbell, no matter the weight selected. All materials are sturdy and not flimsy in the least. No cheap plastic to be seen. I purchased 2 dumbbells about 6 months ago from the Amazon Warehouse. I was lucky to find them as there was little stock and the price for new was really high due to demand/COVID. Maybe for this reason I will end up giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons: - quality control should be stricter: although fully functional and with no defects, both dumbbells make noise when moved around because the cosmetic ring covers near the handle are not staying in place. It is not a big deal and it doesn't affect functionality, but it does make some clinking noise when moving them around while exercising. - the selection of the weight should be smoother - sometimes it gets slightly stuck, but it otherwise works well; usage of materials that allow a smoother weight selection might avoid that. Please note that the dovetail at the end of the last plate will be, literally, a pain in your leg, when you start your set with the weights on your legs (e.g., bench presses before you lie on the bench). I understand the necessity of the insert popping out of the last plate to connect to the next one, but a better solution with no hard edges should be found by SNode. Also: I don't recommend these dumbbells if you often do workouts with varying-weight sets, performed back-to-back (e.g. pyramid sets with increasing or decreasing weight). As much as the weight selection is quick, sometimes it requires more attention if everything is not aligned correctly. The weight change might not be as fast as you want to. If you allow time between sets, you should be ok otherwise. As much as these dumbbells look and are, in fact very sturdy, with no flimsy plastic parts to be seen, I advise not to let them fall on the ground (not that you should drop weights in any case!). They might not break or stop working like other brands might, but I wouldn't test it or make them drop a thing of habit. All being said, I would recommend them wholeheartedly, keeping in mind the above considerations/notes. PS: kudos to the excellent packaging! ... show more

These weights appear to be great quality and very easy to put together. Pro tip if you want to save a little money and storage space on the rack for these weights, titan fitness makes a adjustable dumbbell rack that is cheaper and angled to make racking and re-racking the weights easier.

The media could not be loaded. Was back and forth on whether or not to buy these. Got 2 say so far used them 2 times and I am pleased. A little pricey but quality is pretty good so far. Cast iron metal very little plastic. Only real gripe I have so far is the weight increment is weird it's not by 5lbs not a deal breaker though. The 299.00 price tag is a little steep and it's just for 1 dumbell. Thought about it an investment and space saving. I have some beach body workouts require weights and these are perfect. Another con is the placement triangle at the end of the dumbell it can cause injury or dig into your skin. They do clank a little but not alot. I'm always scared that the plate is gonna slip off and hit me or fall on my foot. Sometimes the dumbell doesn't sit right on the cradle and it takes a few seconds to place it right to change weights. The other thing is I ordered both dumbells at the same time and one came a full week later than the other one. Another small issue I have is the rotation ring to change weight in one dumbell is tighter than the other one and doesn't always click to let u know it's locked in, which is kinda scary when you are swing weights around. I do suggest buying me stand specifically made for these. Very sturdy, easy to adjust weight, and I'm happy with the 80LB default with more weight possible with extension packs.
