  • A 5-Star Mil-Dot Scope Rating from this Old Sarge!
I finally found a good Mil-Dot scope to meet my fixed retirement budget that was not at the Mil-Spec scope price I used while in the military. This Sniper LT4-16x50AOL Mil-Dot scope meets my expectations and budget for my new Mossberg Patriot 22-250 rifle. There were 2 issues I found with the scope: - First, the Product Description listed CR2 as the battery for the Illumination Red/Green/Blue Dial when in fact it required the CR2032 battery. I found several other Sniper scopes on Amazon listing CR2 battery instead of what should be CR2032 battery. This is not an issue with the scope itself. - Second, when the scope reticle illumination is turned on, there is a color light glaring lightly off of the inside wall of the scope tube which can cause a minor sighting distraction. All of the scope features like the magnification ring, fast focus eyepiece, ocular & objective lens, elevation & windage adjustment knobs, Parallax adjustment ring, removeable flip-open lens caps, and the High rings all works great on the scope I received from Amazon. With the aid of my trusty Wheeler Engineering Reticle Leveling System, I quickly aligned the scope reticle on the rifle. And with the aid of the Wheeler Engineering Laser Bore Sighter, I was able to quickly bore sight the scope on paper at 25 yards in the back yard. Then I went to the outdoor firing range and was able to quickly do a perfect 25-yard target distance for a 200-yard Zero; and verified with a 5-round zero firing at 200 yards within a 1-1/2" group. There were no problems with zeroing the scope. The scope reticle held zero perfectly throughout firing over 20 rounds of 22-250. I am looking forward to deer, coyote, and wild hog hunting with my new Sniper mil-dot scope that has proven thus far to be very reliable. Thanks goes out to Texas Precision Optics in Dallas, TX for producing such a good quality, budget friendly mil-dot scope. ... show more

  • Honest Abe review (a review you can trust)
I anticipate on using this scope for my .270. This review is about the scope itself and I will update the review when I mount it and sight it in. The biggest issue I have with this scope is the scope rings. They are too small and they will not tighten down without possibly damaging the scope so be sure to order some new scope rings. The second issue I have (and I may not have gotten the best picture) is the scuff on the scope ring itself. No big deal, im throwing it on a .270. Just be weary of possible damage upon arrival. Though its not pictured, all three of the lights and brightness settings work. They are at average quality as far as brightness wise but they are fine and crisp. The scope itself just feels right to me. AS OF NOW 11-10-2020: The scope appears to be of good quality, nothing really out of the usual. For the price, im amazed. Until I sight it in and use the scope, I can't really recommend or oppose buying this scope. I can say, im pretty confident and stoked about trying it out. Next update should be on 11-15-2020 or sooner. Look forward to seeing how it performs. ... show more

  • Great scope.
I use this scope on my Savage Mark ii FV-SR. It is used for precision bench rest shooting. The zero was easy to set and has remained accurate after putting 500 rounds down range. I do not use the lighted reticle.. For my purpose this scope allows me to shoot very accurately. With the right ammo I am able to shoot 5 rounds in the same hole at 50 yds. The parallax numbers are a bit off but easy to work with. ... show more

  • All Most a 5
I received my scope sealed in a factory box-so no returns were made-it came this way from the factory. 1.Windage turret and elevation turret both have up and down marked-windage should have R or L marked on it. 2.Rim of objective says 4x16x40AO-should read 4x16x50AO-clearly it is 50mm not 40mm. 3.Scope rings are good and proper height-also seems to be good quality. 4.Scope zeroed correctly and for now seems to hold zero-mounted on my Ruger RPR .22lr. If it weren't for the couple of problems it would be a 5-but I can't find who to inform of these 2 problems. For the money I can put up with the small shortcomings because they don't affect the workings much. ... show more

  • Very nice scope, great value
I have mounted this scope and sighted it in. It arrived with scope rings already attached. I had alrready purchased and installed the appropriate mounting base for my rifle so I was able to mount the scope in a couple of minutes. It mounted eaisly and fit above the fixed rifle sights so I did not have to remove them. It came with the properly sized "allen wrench." Making initial adjustments to eye relief, parallax and focus was easy. The aluminated reticle is a nice feature. I have not had this before and as my sight fails with age I think it will be an attribute. The cope was "on the paper" out of the box and after about 3 shots I had it zeroed. I also like the "zero locking" feature. The scope arrived quickly and securely packaged. I am pleased with this product. ... show more

  • Great Scope, Terrible Mounts
Love the scope, but upon mounting it to my rifle and sighting it in, the rear mount thumbscrew snapped off and hit me in the face on my third shot. Beware the cheap mounting screws. Might be wise to order some good quality 1” high rise mounts with your order.

  • Great price, loads of features
It's a good scope for the money. The glass is surprisingly clear. It's not the smoothest scope out there but for the money it's a comfortable trade off. You can adjust everything easy enough. The reticle is clear and the illuminated feature work nicely if that's something you're looking for. The only real complain I have is the scope rings are not tall enough to use the lens caps. You can cram the caps on but you can't focus the scope with them on. Another 1/8" taller and it would clear just fine. I doubt you'd find a better scope at this price range. I know I haven't. ... show more
