Before buying ANY product from SmileDirectClub, do an online search for "SmileDirectClub lawsuits". Seriously! I’ve never had to write a review like this, but I’ve never encountered a company like this. Amazon should remove SmileDirectClub and all of their products from the Amazon website. Before I lose you with a lengthy post, if you do the above search, you will see that this company has recently lost a lawsuit brought on by Washington, DC's attorney general for the company making customers sign a NDA if they want to receive a refund after the 30-day guarantee policy, but in exchange, the customers could not leave a negative review... 17,000 customers are now released from these NDAs and able to share their experiences! Now for my experience, I ordered the wireless LED teeth whitening kit. The LED device worked initially. I used the device for 1 week and after each use, I followed the directions and rinsed it. In order to prevent water from pooling around the charging base, I propped the device up and placed it with the mouth piece down on a drying cloth. In the morning, after it was dry, I put it on the charging base. After 1 week, the LED lights stopped working. The following week I sent an email to the company to notify them of the problem and ask them for help. A week later I got a reply and was told I needed to send a video showing the problem. I sent a video and explained the situation. After 2 weeks, I was told they couldn't open the link and to please resend. Each time I sent the video it was in a different file format, and each time they replied saying the link wasn't compatible with their system and it couldn't be opened. After each video that I sent, it typically took them 1-2 weeks to reply. After the 4th attempt of sending a video, I asked what file format would work for their system? My question wasn't answered. After the 5th attempt of sending a video and them saying it couldn't be opened, I asked again what file format would work with their system? They still never answered that question. I sent a standard video file that can be opened with any standard system. Out of the 6 different file formats sent, there's no way that not one of the files would open. However, due to their lack of timeliness in their replies, I went past the manufacturer deadline for returns and Amazon's deadline too. The scam is they sell bad products, act like they are willing to help if you send a video, string the customer along in the timeline of processing the return claiming the video can't be opened, and once the return-by date is past they stop communication. Day 1 bad, days 2-6 okay, day 7 broke. The good: I was hesitant due to having sensitive teeth but this had very minimal sensitivity which was great and was easily applied to my teeth. I saw some okay results which I believe may have turned into great results if I could have completed the full cycle/used all the product. Quick five minute sessions made the process easy and fast. Bad: The design of the light is terrible. The power button is touch sensitive and I found myself constantly fighting to turn it on or off or worrying it wasn't even on during the 5 minutes because my lips had rested on it by mistake and turned it back off. This made the whole thing very frustrating. Towards the end of my first week the light stopped working completely. It would not turn on. I thought it might just need charging but when plugging it in it would make a fast clicking sound and wouldn't charge. Ended up being a waste of money and time and I will be purchasing something else in the future instead. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised that this really works. The instructions say to do it for one week. I found that there is plenty in the tube, I will use it again in a few months. My teeth were not sensitive after using it either.

This is my 1st jab at the LED teeth whitening. The price is a little more than I would normally spend, but the reusability was the main appeal. There are some plus & minuses worth mentioning. To begin, I thought I ordered the type that you can use once per day for 10 minutes - Amazon had it listed as a separate product from the 5 minutes twice per day, but the instructions on the box I received indicate to use for 5 minutes twice per day. No biggie, I'm just a busy lady & I was hoping for a once per day product. Overall, I think the whitening worked fine. (Again, I don't have much to compare it with) I was actually able to get 2 one-week uses out of the gel pen included in the box. Maybe I'm not using enough, but that was kind of a bonus, & I like that I can purchase refills online as well. I couldn't really find info on how often it's safe to use this product, so I'm just beginning my 3rd treatment this calendar year (and also since purchasing) in mid-November. My main issue is with the length of the charge. The directions indicate that 1 full charge should be enough juice for a one-week treatment. This was accurate for the first use, but it had to be re-charged mid-week during the 2nd use, and now I have to charge the mouthpiece after every single use for the 3rd round. I've been super careful to keep the base of the mouthpiece dry when rinsing with lukewarm water, just like the directions say, & I use low water pressure & dry it thoroughly before storing back in the the charging cradle. The mouthpiece shut off after less than a minute on the second day of the current round, so I had to miss that session since I didn't have time to wait for it to charge. I know a lot of reviews complain about the power button being too touchy, which I agree with, but that wasn't the issue in this case. It worked fine after it charged for a while.
