I debated buying this milk frother, bc I own a battery operated handheld already, but since I’m Smeg addicted I went ahead and bought it. It’s one of the BEST purchases I’ve made! It’s whips any type of milk (whole, skim, almond, oat) into a light, fluffy, creamy froth. It’s so easy to use. It even heats the milk while whipping. (You can choose warm or cold). I’ve used it for dessert toppings, too. Cleaning is a breeze. There’s a small ring in the bottom. Remove that and just rinse and replace ring. This item is truly worth the money. I have had poor satisfaction with the frothers available at the typical $30-50 price point. The electronics have failed due to poor design and inadequate waterproofing. My expectation was that spending this much more wooukd result in excellent reliability and performance. I have been using this item daily for over 8 months without any issues. And the performance and versatility have totally met my expectations. The distinct settings provide you with the result you expect: From nearly 100% foam to just hot milk. I usually use the hot, dense setting to make a latte macchiato and the result is delicious. I have also used it a number of times to make hot chocolate with the included heating/melting paddle installed. The agitating function really gives your beverage a melted chocolate ice cream flavor that is really rich. I got the best results using grated dark chocolate, but it also turns out good with powdered cocoa or chocolate chips. It’s really easy to clean the stainless steel pitcher and since it’s removable there is no hazard to the motor unit from water while rinsing. If you want versatile performance and a machine that will last, I recommend this unit. The only other consideration would be that no mechanical frother can give quite the same control and flavor of a powerful steam wand. So if you are a real coffee gourmet , maybe invest in a fancier espresso machine and use the steam. Personally I prefer the flavor of a moka pot, so I don’t have a countertop machine. ... show more

Super foam with milk and almond milk. No fully automatic espresso maker can ever match the foam this thing makes-and it’s so easy to clean. I took one star off because the steel container rattles when it’s running, still highly recommended.

I live on a dairy farm. We use milk fresh from a cow- unpastureized. Fresh milk will not froth much. Almost sent the thing back but after reading about different fat levels in milk decided to try a few others. Store bought whole milk works best but i have used flavored creamer and Oat Juice( I refuse to call it oat milk) lol. My kids love how quick and yummy hot chocolate is and I have used it every day for my coffee. I guess I will have to hide the milk jug as my farmer husband will not be please that I am buy milk when we can have it for free. ... show more
